Dior Fahrenheit is a true classic, and I absolutely adore this fragrance. Its complex blend of leather, violet, nutmeg, and citrus creates a rich and captivating scent that lingers beautifully throughout the day. What I find most appealing about Dior Fahrenheit is its versatility—it transitions seamlessly from daytime wear to evening events, making it a go-to choice for almost any occasion.

Some people might say it leans towards a more traditional or masculine scent, but I appreciate how it can be worn confidently by anyone. Its boldness adds a touch of sophistication to casual and formal looks alike. Despite differing opinions on its modernity, I find Dior Fahrenheit to be timeless and distinctive, setting it apart from other fragrances. For me, it's the perfect fragrance that stands out in the best way possible.

ScentedJuan

I'm soo late to the Fahrenheit party. I've only recently smelled this at Sephora. And apparently the version i smelled is the inferior composition (an abomination). I dont know about that. But the scent is 🤯🔥🫠. I could not quit smelling my hand. I heard it was good but no one could tell me just how good it really is.

I agree with guyan. If you had no clue when this came out and were told it was a new release. You'd more than likely believe it. It has absolutely no signs of age. Not one. It's 100% signature scent worthy. This fragrance is absolutely beautifully masculine in it's current state! Only a matter of time now before it's officially in the collection. And when that happens I'll be back here to share my findings.

TBC😉

Moyashi04

This was too much for me, it was heavy and it felt like it either suits you perfectly right or perfectly wrong and it felt like it is suitable for very specific ocasions. This is a matter of taste but honestly, this was overwhelming.

im_batman

I dislike this fragrance, I love the smell of gasoline but this fragrance is extraordinarily strong & I can't like that it's too strong I almost got a headache from it. It's too overpowering, I believe this should be reformulated and a bit softer in terms of how strong this fragrance is.

Kylitobombito

I love the smell of gasoline🔥🔥

DaysScentless

100% agree with the reviewer below. Really unique AND versatile at the same time. If you’re a gentleman looking for a signature scent, this is it.

Trilogy

You will never have smelt this dna before so unique. Not a blind buy and it you haven’t been brought up on this scent then you are in for a treat however give yourself a chance to get to know it and thank Dior for taking the chance and being different. Diesel ⛽️ fumes and masculinity are the true players here and surprisingly versatile for all seasons. If you want to stand out from the sea of blue fragrances this is the one.

Fuder95

@thefraganist55 no boss you’re literally missed the point, you should be a man to wear this cologne ! tattoo and beer ….. no need for all that !! lol, I don’t drink I have a beard and I’m professional architecture and I use it and feel it suits me … I don’t need to have be fat dirty with bottle of beer and a beard to wear this !!!

woodpipes

Y'all talking about "this fragrance is only suited for" are absolutely RIDICULOUS... Granted I wear whatever the f*ck suits my fancy & I have some very eclectic taste in fragrances, AND I unfortunately as a frequent vintage hunter have not yet smelled a batch of Fahrenheit prior to like 2012, BUTTTTT - the current formulation is a super classy & sexy ozonic violet that any stylish individual with an air of maturity (& I don't mean mature like OLD, I mean maturity like doesn't come off as childish or a dumb knob) should check out. That's simply a fact. & @GGVV PLEASE, my friend - wear WHAT YOU LIKE with confidence! Opinions are like @$$holes - everyone has one, & a great many of them are nasty, gross, & unattractive... so don't trouble yourself with them, especially when forming your own opinions! Wore the current formulation just yesterday on a cool spring day in the NE US & it was absolutely f*cking gorgeous!

zekeriyaluv

It's a great perfume, it takes me back to the past, it's very masculine.I don't understand bad reviews, you are all slaves to popular culture

TheFraganist55

@GGVV sounds like you most definitely meet the qualifications and can still wear it today lol. Interesting that you mention that your batch smells different than today's batches. I get very masculine vibes from it. I can understand the "gasoline" comparison that a lot of people say, but I think it smells oddly alluring. To me, it doesn't fit the vibes of teenagers and young adults at all. But I think it can be pulled off quite effectively if the right person wears it. Regardless, I've only been into fragrances for a few months but just wear it if you feel like it, honestly don't worry about others' views on it.

GGVV

I have a few questions for the community...
I have a bottle of this - half of it remains - that I bought back in 1996, batch number 9H01.
Obviously I was not using it very frequently.
One of the reasons is that it made me feel pretentious - I was a very young adult back then.
Another reason is that it was/is so unique that anyone who had smelled it once would immediately recognize it on me.
Nowadays I hesitate to use the rest of it because of the very strong opinions I read about it.

The thing is I never got the gasoline scent in this fragrance.
Is it possible that the 9H01 batch I bought in 1996 is hugely different to the ones people smell today?
And why the connotations of super masculinity, it smells fresh and clean to me.
And by the way @TheFraganist55, I have three of your criteria, alas I shaved the beard back in October, am I still good for it?

TheFraganist55

Requirements to qualify for wearing this fragrance:
- 40+ years of age
- Be a blue collar worker in the trade doing some crazy dangerous job that gives you arthritis by age 30
- Have tattoo sleeves
- Be a biker or trucker with a beer belly
- Have shades of greay here and there in your hair
- Have a beard or mustache, or both (preferably with shades of gray as well)
- Be gritty
- Have chest and back hair
- Voice at least as low as Darth Vader
You must have at least 4 of these criteria to wear this.
If I see anyone under 40 wearing this fragrance then I will publicly shame you.

the only way you are pulling this off is if you are a lumberjack or mechanic with big hairy balls that are extra large. gasoline

When I first smelled this I thought i was about to throw up in public. it reminds me of the smell of burnt tires at a race track dont waste your money on this.

👋Hey vintage hunters!

I just spotted a 100 ml. 1996 Vintage Dior Fahrenheit on eBay at the store under the handle 'guardianofthefragrances'.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/176333821004

90's batches are GRAIL as they were loaded with concentrated naturals, and pre-IFRA banned aromachemicals. So good! DON'T BUY MODERN! The original formulas smelled much more photo-realistic like gasoline - I didn't know this until I did some research and got ahold of some bottles.

I'd get the bottle myself, but I have too many bottles lol. I've shopped with the seller before - very friendly, knowledgeable, and trustworthy, and offers refunds if bottle doesn't meet your expectations.

Just spreading the word!

FumeL'ver

I agree when people say it's a masterpiece and this is coming from someone who HATES the leather note but to me it blends in so beautifully with everything else and even though it has that gasoline note, I can still smell clean freshness mixed in and I feel like that's what helps it be wearable in any season. Also, I'm a male that sometimes paints his nails and OFTEN wears feminine fragrances and I'll still wear this BECAUSE I CAN. Only mentioning because ppl like to say really stupid/ridiculous things on fragrance forums that make NO sense. Wear what you want whether male, female, alien, or even twat. Anyway - the leather threw me off at first but once I gave it a chance, I saw that it doesn't overpower. Maybe it's because I love the blended notes that take the burnt rubbery harshness away. Either way, this dries down to a clean fresh musk scent on me. Well made fragrance!

28csingley

I just smelled it out of one of my friends locker, it honestly doesn’t smell bad. You really need to appreciate the gasoline part of it.

when i was young and watched Less Than Zero, i thought i'd grow up and be rich and life would smell like this. it makes me want a Maddie Hayes spiral staircase in an atrium, as seen on Moonlighting.

GroovySwinger

It evokes a distinguished old pimp cruising in a Rolls Royce.

Honestly smells like deadfish at first with a hint of grass but then drys down to a freshish gas sorta smell. My friend likes it I hate it seems like if you enjoy it your really do. Smell it before you buy it

Frag_Enjoyer

Masterpiece.

zckybst

I have finally found the right time to wear this!

Where I'm from (tropical weather), this is perfect for rainy days!
Smells different too as compared to wearing it on sunny days or nights.
Find it to be sweeter and much much more pleasant to the nose on a wet day.

Worn this for 3+hrs at the time of writing this and i can say, 1 foot of consistent projection and the sillage is just amazing.

AlexandrNechiporenko

This is not a fragrance, this is a Masterpiece! Leather hussar boots, rubbed with a broken stem of violet and different flowers. That's how I feel this scent. The scent is not for young boys. A real man's thing!

bartca89

I freakin' love Dior Fahrenheit. I love that it's not sickeningly sweet... and not too spicy either... just pure retro badass. It really suits me personally, so obviously that's an influence. But it's such a unique, bold, high-quality OG masterpiece.

If you're sick of modern "sweet boy" delicate masculinity, find yourself cloyed by stuff like Gautier's Le Male, and want a return to unapologetic badass, this is definitely for you.

Dior Fahrenheit emerges as an olfactory masterpiece, a symphony of scent that defies convention and transcends the boundaries of traditional perfumery. Its multifaceted composition, meticulously crafted to perfection, unveils a tapestry of notes that captivates the senses and ignites the imagination.

At its core lies the unmistakable aroma of leather, evoking the rugged elegance of a well-worn jacket and the timeless allure of the open road. This rich, sensuous note forms the foundation upon which the fragrance rests, grounding it in a sense of earthy sophistication and masculine strength.

Interwoven with the leather is a forest of woody accords, their resinous depths infusing the composition with a sense of primal energy and untamed allure. Here, the smoky warmth of vetiver mingles with the spicy sweetness of cedarwood, creating a verdant tapestry that is both comforting and intoxicating.

A breath of ozonic freshness sweeps through the fragrance, like a cool breeze on a hot summer's day, invigorating the senses and awakening the spirit. Meanwhile, a touch of fresh spice adds a tantalizing zest to the composition, infusing it with a vibrant energy that dances upon the skin like sparks from a flame.

Beneath it all lies a subtle hint of animalic musk, lending a primal sensuality to the fragrance that is as mysterious as it is alluring. Aromatic herbs and aquatic notes add a refreshing twist, while delicate florals and bright citrus lend a touch of elegance and refinement to the composition.

Through the passage of time, Dior Fahrenheit unfolds its mesmerizing allure upon the skin, each note a brushstroke in the canvas of its creation. It is a fragrance that speaks to the adventurous spirit and the untamed soul, inviting the wearer to embark upon a journey of self-discovery and exploration.

In its entirety, Dior Fahrenheit stands as a testament to the enduring power of scent, a beacon of masculine elegance in a world that is ever-changing and unpredictable. With its impeccable blend of leather, woods, and spices, it invites the wearer to embrace their true essence and unleash their inner fire.

Leather, Spice, Gasoline. The start of every one-night BDSM stand. What else could you possibly want in a fragrance ? The initial spray almost hurts to smell, but that's a good thing. For reasons I won't state. Fresh Italian leather jacket worn by a 32 year old that lies about riding a Deus Ex motorcycle and has a drinking habit that he swears isn't alcoholism. I own the rest of a 1988 bottle, 2014 and a recent 2021 release. There's a subtle difference between the 88' and 21' version, but I can't quite put my hands on it, possibly the depth of the other notes like citrus and lavender. But in every single way, this bottle of encapsulated mature sex-appeal has me captivated and I can't get away. This is my go to when I go to specific bars because I know that women older than me will catch a few whiffs as I purposefully walk very close to them. God I'm so lonely. Anyways, 9/10

jamshiad

Oh lord what have they done to you!!! Just scored a recent batch out of nostalgia and it’s not even remotely close to what I used to wear back in early 2000s. The new version is more unisex leaning with all the notes blended and one can’t feel the depth, the punch, the star once this bad bay was known for. Dior should be ashamed for still charging premium $ for this reformulated crap :(

dhruv2006

Description: Opens with a very sharp blast of the "fresh-spiciness" along with citruses, under a dark gasoline-y scent. The sharpness dies down fast, leaving a pungent combination of florals, woods, and leathers. Eventually, it only leaves behind a general dark scent, of musky leather and and some amber and patchouli. None of the notes are represented very specifically, though. It doesn't smell much like florals, citruses, or even woods. Just the dark, sharp combination of them all.

Thoughts: It's weird. As I said above, it doesn't smell like anything listed and is very out-of-the-blue when you smell it first. It's not a "pleasant" or "warm" dark scent. Still, it's one of my favorites. The violet leaf note and something about the combination of florals are so unique and gorgeous. It does smell old-fashioned, but I wouldn't call it hard to "pull off". I absolutely love it, I think it's a must-smell. Does darkness uniquely and freshly, in a way that grabs you and doesn't let you go.

Image: Biker's garage, leather Jackets, open bottles of gasoline, a slight lingering smoke, sharp alcohol. There is dirt on burnt-out motorcycle tires that just got back from some exotic forest.

General: Not really a season-specific scent. It's a love-or-hate, but you can wear it almost whenever. Decent performance, and is great for formal and bolder occasions.

Based on some of the reviews below, I get it. A lot of these modern men like to tuck their wieners, paint their nails, and wear women's fragrances. This is not for those men.

euxury

This is the juice. Don't listen this is winter fragrance. This juice can be wore all year around.

How it really smells undepended from the notes:
- In first 20 minutes: Leather, dry, a bit of cucumber. It gives winter vibes.
- Between 20 minutes - 1 hour. Leather, cucumber, benzoin evenly. Spring fall vibes.
- After 1 hour. Starting to project heavyly. %80 cucumber but very aquatic. %15 benzoin but doesn't bother. ( I hate benzoin note, can't wear Nikos Sclupture because of this.) %5 Leather. All weather types.

But in hot weather be careful. Do not overspray. 3 sprays max!!!

Signature worthy type scent. But need mature type.

guyan

Classic, it's like a well composed song that never gets old. you might think this was 2024 release if you haven't heard about it before. This perfume is just genius, Enough said.
By the way don't be put off by the "gasoline" comparison that's highly over stated. it's more of a green/citrus/flowery, woody top that starts off sharp but almost immediately matures before ur eyes or beneath ur nose..

Amodio

I like this perfume, just not for me. This is a very masculine perfume, if you picture a biker in a bar wearing a leather jacket, and you sit next to him. This is the scent I’m getting from this perfume. So I dislike it for the fact it’s not for me, but it’ll fit some people very nicely.

K Safin

Ignore reviews by salespeople for clone brands like "Arber Cami". I have a 2022 bottle and a vintage bottle (have owned several) and the 2022 bottle smells pretty much the same as the vintage bottle.

Fragrentation

Hate it so much personally, but others who are older such as 35 and 40 would love this. Stinky burnt tires and gasoline really puts me off and no one else liked it when I wore it once and I even got told I smelt weird. I can see how people enjoy it but also hate it similarly to Kouros with the love and hate thing.

abyssangel

Love it but performance is poor for me. In order of appearance: Rubber hitting hot F1 asphalt, clean leather jacket, the lingering air a few hours after cutting grass, and a subtle sweet warm breeze. This is an evening/night scent in all seasons. Unfortunately it only performs for 1.5hrs. If I work up a sweat it revives a lighter version of itself, sans the first note, even ~8hrs later

AmberNote

For when you don't want to smell like a vanilla cupcake.

KrisJenner99

Hands down must own for any lover of leather or citrus. Classic, timeless and very well rounded. This was one of my first bottles on my fragrance journey.

Shahram.yari

I recently bought a full 97 batch (rainbow box)
after multiple use now I can perceive the gasoline vibe from it . I get smoky gasoline like leather on musk to it.
aromatic cucamber like aroma with slight smoky leather undertone on musk .
in vintage farenheit leather and gasoline are more dominant than newer batches which are more airy and aromatic with touch of leather.

komail

Fahrenheit had to grow on me after years of experimenting with fragrances. I remember it really put me off when I first smelled it many years ago. However, as my taste has grown I began to really appreciate it.

When Fahrenhiet Parfum came out I decided to give it a try and it was so vanillia heavy and sweet which I did not find it very well fitting with the fragrance.

However I loved Fahrenhiet Cologne from first sniff and bought a 200ml bottle immediately. It really made me appreciate the dna. However, the Cologne is not made for colder days.

I retested Fahrenheit again recently and it clicked with me. Things sometimes go in full circle. From an absolute hate to a love. I believe it has the right balance between boldness and class.

Robert Peck1

Unlike a lot of people I like this fragrance, the leather really stands out to me and it smells like a fireplace with some gasoline notes. It is also very masculine.
5/10

spoi

I understand the gasoline note. This is like pouring kerosene on yourself. Nonetheless it is very good, hyper-masculine, like you just walked out the auto repair. It smells somewhat airy and watered down, possibly due to the ozonic notes. Performance isnt so great for me neither

Arber Cami

Just bought a new bottle (2022 batch), and wow this has been watered down to death. No gasoline vibe in the opening, smells kind of like Fahrenheit, longevity pretty mediocre (3-4h)...and I even dare to say that this is more of an unisex fragrance than an alpha male scent like it used to be - ozonic and very spicy scent profile now, not the complex beast we used to have.
If you have an older batch, hold on dear to it, new bottles are just garbage.
I suggest buying ; DUA FRAGRANCES - CELSIUS as a clone of the OG Fahrenheit bottles, long lasting and the juice reminiscing of the older bottles.

Histamine

I started loving this for over 30 year ago and I still do. I remember back in the 90s I wore this as a young guy and girls were complimenting this. Tastes and times have changed and I do not expect young guys wearing this and and girls complimenting this much nowadays. It just lacks the sweetness. Instead, mature masculine men will wear Fahrenheit when hanging out with their friends.

If this was invented today, this would be very much a niche perfume. As it is a designer fragrance, it is much more wallet friendly. It is a bargain for what it is, even when you probably have to pay full retail price. It seems that many people say that this is not typical, or call it challenging etc. For those who are into niche fragrances that is often what we are looking for. Fahrenheit would not be considered so challenging amongst niche fragrances. But because it is a designer brand then it is more reachable for people that do not venture into niche territory and commented as being challenging more than it is.

K Safin

I have a bottle and have never smelled anything that resembles petrol. Maybe in America the petrol smells like bitter oranges or something because I struggle to even understand where that notion comes from.

Ten2Midnight

I held off buying this for the longest time because of the differing views around the 'gasoline' element....I wanted the gasoline and knew I'd be disappointed if the fragrance lacked it. I'm very pleased to confirm though that Fahrenheit still has it. Ohh boy does it (the EDT anyway).

The 'gasoline' note strikes from first spray and lingers - I love it! To me, this fragrance is gasoline, oily, tarry, with a kinda sweaty man smell... My parents owned garages growing up; fuel forecourts and mechanic workshops; and this is what comes to mind. That and all my daddy issues. This isn't a boy fragrance - if you shave your chest, overly trim 'down there', then you best stick with Tom Ford-beta perfumes, but if you're a hairy alpha man, then this is for you. And if you are that kind of man...please slip immediately in to my DM's.

platonic-ideal

my boyfriend wears this every day. the lingering scent in my bathroom makes me miss him when he's not here. i like how it mingles with his sweat.

Fortyfree

Floral, airy, complex...

Opens with pleasing "watery-cucumber" vibes.
It's floral, ozonic, unique.
Has aldehydes and spices (nutmeg,) smells "grassy."
There's a light floral note that's reminiscent of petrol/gas, but it's not unpleasant or offensive (quite the opposite.)
Citrus notes emerge alongside violet leaf and it remains airy and expansive.
Maybe a touch of anise followed by a "honeyed" nuance, then something green (possibly geranium?)
Some iris, amber and sandalwood.
Starts to lean a little "Oriental" (to my nose.)
In the base the sandalwood gets more noticeable and a leather note is left on the skin-alongside something that smells like orange-rind or tangerine?

This is an unmistakably masculine scent, it's complex and unique (to me it smells very nostalgic.) I think a lot of guys could pull this off as it feels ageless. As others have said, wearing this is more to do with personality rather than how old you are.

It's not a safe blind buy simply because of how unique it smells.

Works all year but is fantastic in the heat!

Peformance is good, projection is decent for a least a couple of hours (smells incredible in the air) and as a skin scent it lasts 6-8hrs (on my skin.) It's also a compliment magnet...not for the office though.

Can't get involved with reformulation speculation, all I can say for definite is when this was released back in '88 it must've smelt divine!

It's a love for me.

Koku doktoru

Oh, it is beautiful :)
IDK how to decompose it into the notes (see the pyramid instead), but it's such a captivating scent:)
It's a pity it's not marked as unisex:)

zckybst

Oversprayed this and the projection is quite strong for an hour-ish. Died down to almost a skin scent fairly quickly. I'm still getting whiffs of it after 4hrs but it's pretty much just me who was able to smell.

I've had it for almost a year and performance is still quite bad. I usually wear this during the day(typically 31°C). I think I might need to try wearing it at night where it's cooler I guess.

Smirky

Starts out sharp but mellows or smooths out as it dries down. Definite gasoline scent combined with leather. It might be that combo that results in it being very smooth, even though it's strong and projects. Whenever I've worked on a small engine and spilled gas on the ground and on myself, it always struck me as a very sharp, pungent scent. Fahrenheit is not that. The gas scent is smoothed out and thicker and combined well with the leather and a slight floral accord. There is also a subtle sweetness which is at the top range of sweetness I'd accept (that is, not very sweet; I don't like sweet fragrances). Very nice longevity and projection. Overall, a very unique and masculine fragrance that I really like. Would not blind buy. Test it out first.

ISmellGood93

Been wanting to try this stuff for a long time now. Read so much about blind buying being a bad idea that it deterred me from this purchase. Lol. Ive never seen a tester of this ever out at a store to sample. And only once have i even seen this available at an Ulta. Regardless, I blind bought it! And for what felt like a great deal, as Amazon had it on sale for around $70 for a 3.4oz bottle. This is also the last of the main Dior line for me to own a part of and become familiar with. I've bought and tried the Homme line, Sauvage, eau sauavge, and that leaves me here, and I am DUMB for sleeping on this one, especially all winter!

I can say very happily, the blind buy here was a stunning success. I absolutely love what this little bottle holds. This will NOT be the case for everyone, especially the much younger crowd I feel. I put a couple of sprays on my arm, and ohhhh man, how do you even describe this? A fiery leather jacket that someone sprayed grass clippings and amazing on? Definitely the gasoline vibe. To me, a good description, is if you'd just mowed your lawn, with a leather jacket, and were standing right in the exhaust of the mower. That's the best I've got lol. A fiery green gassy leather, that has almost a barbershop feel behind it, in the best way. It also as many say, reminds me of my grandfather a bit. Lol. But I wouldn't say this is something that is for the more mature crowd. Definitely timeless here. This stuff knows no age.

I will say, this is something I could wear with confidence, but I can see now why people would say this stuff could wear a person rather than the person wearing it. Definitely takes a certain type. Which is weird, as this is one of my first reviews saying such a thing, but I'll say, I could imagine a biker or mechanic, or a guy singing in a band wearing this. I cannot however picture this on a dressed up dude going to work in the office all day. Unless he was the CEO. :P

Performance seems good. Was nervous as it's an EDT, that is literally pushing 40 years of reformulations and the like. Having given it a good wearing the day of purchase, I was noticing it VERY loudly, for about an hour (almost thinking I'd oversprayed the shit out of it), then it changes out of the gasoline vibe just a little more than the initial sprays, getting a little bit tighter of a scent bubble, and it'll stay that way for another 7-8 hours, I was noticing it at the end of the work night even still at around 11:30pm, and I'd sprayed it on me at around 3pm. But I will say, there is better performance out there, but this was pretty bang on, not sure truly how noticeable it was at the end of the night, but I mean, I was definitely still getting sniffs of it as I got off work, albeit a little faint, but it was still there, which to me, is a great thing. Crappy stuff, I'm lucky to get 4 hours even on clothes with, so to those saying it doesn't last, I'm gunna disagree, but I will agree, I DOUBT this stuff was like this when it originally released. Good stuff though regardless. Good enough for me to run through the bottle, so I'll take it!

Lastly, I want to comment on the seasonal votes on this frag here on Fragrantica, I don't think this is the winter/fall vibe that its being labeled as here... For me personally, this shit could fly any and all seasons, I feel like it would actually hit REALLY nicely on a hotter summer day/evening. Then again, that whole lawnmower talk up there, is my reasoning for this. I just feel like SO many times in my life, I've mowed my lawn or whatever, and have come in on a hot summer day, smelling JUST LIKE THIS. :P

Fantastic stuff, different, but amazing, has uniqueness that meets greatness in this one I think. Would love to smell a bottle from the late 80s-eatly 90s to compare but it's good either way.

Louismanuel

Wearing it today. Gone in 4-5 hours. Even the diesel note is much weaker than the first time I smelled it. Must have been around 2015. And that is in fact a good thing.

Land0

Honestly would rather pull up to the closest gas station and pay 3$ a gallon to douse myself, at least the longevity and sillage would be “beast mode” 4/10 at best

King_cola

Fahrenheit is a strong, commanding fragrance that projects power and masculinity. Another reviewer said the smell reminds them of a mechanic who wears a leather jacket and has grease under his fingernails, I agree with that statement. My girlfriend says it smells like cucumber Gatorade mixed with leather and gasoline. I don't quite smell that but if I try hard enough I can sort of see it. I would find a tester before buying.

Edit: the more I wear this fragrance, the more I dislike it. There hasn't been a day that I wore this, and I wished I hadn't gone with something different. I've been working on cars my entire life, I grew up in shops and like the smell of gas. Fahrenheit has a gas smell but the combination of different scents mixed with the gasoline gives it an unattractive, cloying quality. I'll likely give the rest of my bottle away.

bigboipascal

I don't understand the dislike. Perfum vesion is better. Probably nostalgic and classic for some. I never smelled this in my life. Gasoline is an exageration, it smells more fake leather than anything.

AkselSvEn

shi smells like when u drive into gasoline pumps in gta and they explode

Sauvage71

Dior Fahrenheit edt is for men who are bold and professional in whatever field they have chosen. You must have some presence about you or at least believe in yourself to wear this properly.

luboturk

Yo, fragrance fam! Let's talk Fahrenheit by Dior, the OG juice that's been turning heads (and maybe raising eyebrows) since 1988. This bad boy ain't your average department store pick-me-up. It's a bold statement, a confident swagger in a bottle, and yeah, it might just smell like a cool dude cruisin' down the highway with the windows down and a leather jacket flapping in the wind.

First things first, let's address the elephant in the room (or should I say, the gas station in the parking lot). Fahrenheit has this distinct gasoline note. Now, hold up before you run screaming for the hills. It's not like you just spilled a pump at the Shell station on yourself. It's more like a refined petrol accord, adding a touch of masculine intrigue and a hint of danger. Imagine James Dean leaning against his motorcycle, a faint whiff of his aftershave mingling with the scent of the open road. That's Fahrenheit.

But don't get me wrong, this fragrance ain't all leather and gasoline. It's got a complex heart layered with violets, woods, and spices. Think of it like a rock n' roll ballad – a little rough around the edges, but with a beautiful melody underneath. The violet leaf adds a green, herbal freshness, while the leather and sandalwood provide a warm, grounding base. And then there's the spice – a touch of nutmeg and cardamom that keeps things interesting, like a surprise guitar solo that kicks in just when you thought the song was over.

Now, Fahrenheit might not be for everyone. It's not your typical "safe" scent. It's bold, unique, and unapologetically itself. You gotta own it, wear it with confidence, and let the fragrance do the talking (or should I say, smelling?). But if you're looking for something different, something that breaks the mold and turns heads, then Fahrenheit is your ride. Just be prepared for the compliments (and maybe a few confused sniffs).

So, is Fahrenheit a classic? Absolutely. It's been around for decades for a reason. It's iconic, daring, and unforgettable. And is it unique? You bet. There ain't nothin' else out there quite like it. So, if you're a fragrance adventurer, a rebel with a cause, or just someone who wants to smell damn good, then give Fahrenheit a spin. You might just find your new signature scent. Just remember, with great fragrance comes great responsibility. Use it wisely, my friends.

-----Projection: 4.5 / 5 Oh yeah, they will notice!
-----Longevity: 8Hrs + Then it stays close to the skin
-----Value: $$$ It's not cheap, but worth it!

DIOR - Fahrenheit

==PRESENTATION==
The bottle isn't really much to look at, but honestly didn't give me much of an indicator of what I was getting into. It reflected a warm, ambery scent that would feel comfortable rather than the dark, masculine punch in the teeth that Fahrenheit really is.

==SMELL==
Really, it's not my cup of tea. I'm a 13 year old Arab kid used to Arab colognes and even past being mature for my age it's not anywhere in my age range. It's a very masculine, woody, leathery scent that has a crowd of the outdoors. Smells like what you'd imagine a cowboy. Gritty and outdoorsy. I don't personally like it but for mature gentlemen, and men and men only, it's a really good scent.

==SILLAGE==
The sillage was no joke, if you wanna seize the audience, take peoples attention by the reigns and scream "I am here." then you'll want this. Very good projection which probably isn't a good thing in my case.

==LONGETIVITY==
It's a long lasting scent, easily spending hours dancing around in the air but has a gentle die-down. Fahrenheit isn't a linear scent at all and is a wide palate (too much for some) and is more of an experience than anything other that can put it into words.

==SEASONAL PREFERENCE==
The leather, woody and almost dirty animalic notes yearn for the winter and fall but I have a feeling that you could pull this off in the spring. It's a salty, cucumbery scent that has some fresh spicy ozonic hints to it but will in the end falter to the masculine powerhouse of the leather.

==GENERAL OVERVIEW==
This is a good scent... ...for mature men. Don't buy this if you are used to fun scents that lack much grittiness, I have nostalgia from this and it's pleasant but it's not really all that. It also smells like a cucumber for some reason. Not a safe blindbuy in the SLIGHTEST. Proceed on this with caution.

DJ Joe Freitas

Smells like Town Fair Tire.

Everts

I don't see anything weird at all. For me, it's simply not a clubbing/raving scent. And I find your point completely redundant. Do you expect people to listen to the same music, wear the same clothes, drive the same cars as they did 30-40 years ago? Just because it was so popular back then doesn't mean that it would get the same sort of effect today.

It is an outdated fragrance...of course if you believe in that sort of thing. If you're wearing it to get compliments/attention, my previous post covers the sort of result you'd expect to get. If you go around smelling like Fahrenheit, chances are that younger people, especially those, that are NOT into fragrances would not be crazy about it. There's a reason why so many people say that it reminds them of their dad/uncle/whatever.

I don't know why you even brought up ageism, the whole point of my previous post was that it is a unique scent and that you shouldn't listen to others in the comment section saying it's only for older guys. You can get away with it. Other people might not be as impressed as they would've been 3 or 4 decades ago, but that doesn't matter if you like it!

And as to your comment about "only young people being allowed at raves"... It's very flattering of you to presume that it's my opinion that sets the agenda on what is universally viewed as the "latest law" these days. Unfortunately, that is not the case. These are just my thoughts and experiences that I am sharing.

Fahrenheit Dior has truly exceeded my expectations! The timeless scent, along with its unique complexity and versatility, makes it a clear favorite in my collection. The longevity is impressive, and I love how it attracts positive attention. Highly recommended!

Dior Fahrenheit is one of those fragrances that people either love or hate, so I may be in the minority because I’m pretty much ambivalent about it. It stirs no great emotions in me and even when I smell it on others (rarely) it is just… there.

I remember walking back into the computer room at home after testing Fahrenheit for one of my first times and thinking, “Smells like the stale body odour of a bloke who has tried to cover the smell up with perfume.”

The leather-nutmeg-violet combo, reminiscent of fuel, is there, as is the floral-greenery lent from hawthorn, honeysuckle (which I think plays more of a role than it’s given credit for), meaning the smell of mowing a suburban lawn is apt. I don’t get the association of a dude riding a motorcycle at all; what I get is middle-lower class suburban dad who works all week to pay the mortgage and does the outside chores on the weekend because he has to. That said it's unique and I've always respected unique fragrances and those who create them.

Fahrenheit thrums along throughout the day, three or four sprays is sufficient, any more and you may start choking people out. Projection is strong.

I actually like Fahrenheit best after wearing it all day and stripping down for my night-time shower: a discreet waft of florals from my chest, touched ever so slightly by the smell of fuel. I tried incredibly hard to love Fahrenheit, but at its best it’s mildly pleasant, at its worst it’s stale man sweat.

Ladymcquaid

I’m a female who really dislikes floral and sweet scents but loves colognes and clean scents. Just to emphasize how sexy this cologne is, my high school boyfriend (who was a jerk) wore this and it’s been 30 years and I’m still obsessed with it. It’s *perfect*. It’s essentially the only thing I wear, aside from Sel Santal from Clean Reserve.

MilesSmiles

This is not a fragrance it's an aura. An aura with a perfect balance of cleanliness, ruggedness, reassurance and adventurousness. It's like a rock tune that has matured into a classic. It might have been loud and edgy at the time, but now it's Dad Rock, AOR, Gold, AM frequency. That's not to say that this cannot be worn and loved by the younger guy - just to say that the passage of time has given a comforting respectability to those power chords and that oily bass, helped by the crisp, cleanliness of the production.

On one level it's a surprisingly soft barbershop soap, on another it's a cold season citrus, on another it's an ozonic purple, but never numbingly polite with that masculine petrol note. Absolutely fine to wear for work - three sprays under the shirt - and still appreciated by women. Your outdoor guy can wear this, your urban guy can wear this, practical guy can wear it, thinking guy can wear it. A true masterpiece no collector of classic man smells should be without.

To me, Fahrenheit is black denim jeans and a dark tweed jacket. It's a denim shirt with a Shantung silk tie. It's an old black convertible with the top down on a cold day. It's the scent a woman wants to bury her nose in when she catches a whiff on her man's Shetland jumper. Relaxed elegance in a bottle. One of those scents that makes you look forward to the colder months, just because you can wear it. I personally prefer it as a day scent, but YMMV.

If you think you remember what it smells like, you're right, or at least very close. If you've never smelt it, it's a try before you buy - simply because it's so unique it can't be categorised with others easily enough for the safest of blind buying, although I'm not really one to talk, as I take risks on blind buys often.

Pinochles

Love this one, but my girlfriend HATES it. very many scent. i get a very airy leather. made for the working man.

Nefster84

I just bought this because I tested this at the store and I was really surprised how much I liked it. From the beginning, mid, to the dry down it is fantastic, I didn’t hesitate to buy it. I already own the Parfum version which is a masterpiece and that projects and lasts. I had high expectations for the EDT. I have had it 2 days and I am disappointed with the performance. I get maybe 4 hours and then I can’t smell it anymore. It projects maybe an 1-1.5 hours for about a foot. Maybe I had my expectations too high or maybe it doesn’t mix with my body chemistry. I did check the batch and it’s September 2023 so maybe it needs more time to mature. I am thinking about returning it and exchanging it for another bottle. I paid $62 for the 3.4oz. What a bummer cause I really love the smell.

DaysScentless

I really enjoy the “airy” vibe to Dior fragrances, including this one. A mature leather scent that is warm and versatile. Could easily be a signature scent. Good silage and protection 👍🏼

4.2/5

JeanPierree

I'm getting leathery, with a stong rubber scent. Can see this being worn with a leather or brown racer jacket - definitely will add more to this style of appearance. Good performance. Personally, not a fan but can see why it has popularity.

MelvinG79

For almost 3 decades, now that i am becoming a fraghead compare to just a casual perfume user before, I am revisiting this now. This is pure nostalgia. The first perfume that i smelt through my dad. This opens my mind to fragworld. Now that i'm also a dad of 3 kids, this is my first ever fahrenheit together with the parfum. It still feels the same way like you remember your first crush. I think Fahrenheit is a game changer during that time and still is up to this day. I don't care if other says this smells.like gasoline. This is still way way better of most of the hype perfumes that is out on the market today.

Toby Alexandru

This may surprise some people but as an 18 year old dude this is my signature scent. The smell of gasoline has always allured me and I’ve always been a sucker for Fahrenheit. I love the way the leather and violet leaf blends to make a gasolineish scent. It’s for me super wearable and definitely a masterpiece. I wear this scent for myself and myself only. Not a lot of people are wearing this so it also comes off really unique to regular people who are not into fragrances. It’s probably better suited for older guys, but anyone who likes gasoline should definitely smell this, chances are you’ll like it.

daanrenheit

This is the first fragrance I fell in love with, it's just so unique and badass. I also like that it's polarising.

konga5

I'd like to AGREE to DISAGREE with Unearthly Apothecary : My 2014 bottle smells pretty close (if not identical) to my early 2000s batches (and if you check- early 2000s are close to the 1990s versions - for the most part) . But , yeah, that is my "cut off" point . Something went VERY wrong with Dior 2014-2016.

scenturian

@UnearthlyApothecary

Very good review.

UnearthlyApothecary

Fahrenheit is one of my all time favorites, I have been obsessed by Violet/leather combos since I got into collecting perfume. I have a vintage mini from the 90s and a tester bottle from 2008. I can’t make any major distinction between the two, but you don’t want anything to do with bottles dating after about 2009 trust me. Both Jil Sander Simply and Lagerfeld Karleidoscope are far better than current formula Fahrenheit and cheaper than vintage bottles. The smell of Fahrenheit is an almost whimsical oddball combination of gas, car leather and Violet leaf with underlying tonka sweetness. Its a bit of a gender bender… I would consider it a more feminine scent if not for the nutmeg… I think that little spicy bit is what makes it smell a bit more masculine but It’s sweeter softer and more floral towards the drydown which is where it really begins to smell more femme. At a certain point there is even a bit of that play doh vibe you also smell in Hypnotic Poison. Fahrenheit is not for everyone but it’s a very unique and magical scent experience for those of us that love it

nikthegrek

If you wanna know what vintage Fahrenheit smelt like just use their Bodyspray..scentwise is 100% identical.

scenturian

Is it a classic masterpiece? Yes.
Do I love it? Yes.
Perfumes have no genders but I find it unisex even feminine leaning by the standards.
What is all the fuss that everyone reviews it as super masculine or even hyper masculine?
There are many masculine perfumes out there, beside that even the Absolute flanker is much more masculine than this.

Tripokaridos

This is big Yes or No perfume , for old time classic masculine men it's a big Yeah, for Modern sweet Metro sexual men it's a big No .
Is it a masterpiece ? Time has already answered this question !!!

Afc_Croatian

After 100+ fragrances I decided to purchase what many consider a classic. Take every cliche review you've read about this scent like "leather jacket", "gasoline", "difficult to wear" with a grain of salt because while reminiscent of smelling like those descriptions it is still beautiful in its own way.

For one, it smells like nothing else in my large collection. The opening will make or break you: Either smelling like a mechanic shop to you or a leather jacket that's been decaying in a forest. I assume it's the nutmeg and violet that clash with the leather to give it that rugged vibe to it, very masculine, bold, vintage. I do however enjoy the subtle orange note which gives it a light freshness, arguably able to be worn in a warmer climate.

The dry-down removes any trace of citruses & florals and amps up the masculinity. the lavender lingers to keep that freshness and makes it easier to enjoy for me.

When I first tried it years ago I thought yeah it does smell like gas, but I became more open-minded and appreciate the notes in this one.

Is it still a classic? Absolutely, we seem to be in an era of gourmand sweet scents.so I'm sure this will continue being different.

Has it been reformulated? Well this lasts on me for 5+ hours. Take it as it is.

8.4/10 I see why some say it is a masterpiece.

Bibi16

SEXY!

roccodrigo

@CinemaParadiso
I found your review… beautiful

I don’t got it in my hands yet, but the first time I smell this I fell in love

Eugene108

In 1988, a flight of human imagination was materialized and enclosed in a bottle... This scent is like a perfumery interpretation of Dali's work. A wonderful, unbridled fantasy...

SCASH

This is something Tyler Durden would wear!

LuisVi

For a variable amount per gallon, you can get 80% of this scent at your local gas station.

Adr1

Smells like a tire dipped in gasoline

Perfumelover15

Fahrenheit was and still is a sensation!
I remember the first time I smelled the fragrance I was astonished. It was the beginning of the 90s. And back then there was nothing like Fahrenheit by Dior! The fantastic top notes of violets, cucumber, mandarin were never smelled before. This accord is so original, even by nowadays standards. And eventhough I loved Jazz by YSL, Pasha by Cartier, Heritage by Guerlain, Boucheron Pour homme, all new and modern fragrances from the beginning of the 90s, Fahrenheit was a revolution! The woody character made it masculine but the top notes made it so different from all the rest. I remember that at that time many women used to buy it, especially those who were smoking.
The fragrance changed during the years, but I must say that the actual version is quite nice, and I have a reference 200 ml bottle from the 90s. Now it is more transparent and rounder and somehow the harch Iso E super, of which I, m definitely not a big fan, now is softer. So enjoy this fresh woody marvel!

Mr. Cellophane

I've always enjoyed the smell of gas. So, having never smelled it before, I really wanted to get my hands on this frag. I just picked up a bottle of the EDT as I've heard that is the one that smells the most of gas. While I'm not disappointed, Fahrenheit is at most, reminiscent of gas. I'm not sure I would have even thought it smelled like gas had it not been repeated so often here and there and everywhere. I was under the impression it would be a bit more.... accurate. Fahrenheit smells great to me but not like gas, which is a good thing really.

After continuing to smell it, what it reminds me of the most is kerosene more than gasoline.

KleinenFuchs

🩷A timeless masterpiece, I used to have 5-6 bottles of this one!🩷 It smell like a nice sexy man.

Stef_2310

What a timeless masterpiece! An icon! This one is very close to my heart as it is the first fragrance I liked and the first I got as a kid. I think everyone above 30 years old would recognise this smell.
Very rarely you smell it nowdays and although I love it I would not want to wear it anymore, I think it draws too much attention, in my mind at least. I have few drops left of the old Absolute flanker which I wear from time to time because I find it more contemporary, less in your face old school.
I grew up in the 90's so Fahrenheit, Aqua di Gio, etc will always be loved and nostalgic scents to me.

larlorenzo

I had a decant of this about a year-and-half ago, and all I could smell was gasoline. I didn't like it at all. Fast forward to a few months back and I got another decant. This time, I noticed the gasoline accord, but it seemed toned down (it was the EDT for both decants), and I actually smelled other layers to the fragrance. Were the batches that different or had my nose matured significantly???

I am wearing this masterpiece tonight after my shower and before I drift off to sleep. It reminds me of the smell of a mechanic's shop with a slight bit of dark sweetness mixed in. And I definitely pick up the leather note. It is not the luxury car leather that you get from Tom Ford's Ombre Leather EDP or Parfum. No, this leather is more bad ass... a little dirty.

I have worn this to work a few times on days when I just want to give off total boss vibes. I love this stuff. It is definitely not blind-buy safe though. I look forward to wearing this a bit the rest of this winter and into early spring.

daniel2600

This reminds me of helping my Uncle use a chainsaw to cut down pine trees. Also has a pretty strong kerosene scent that reminds me of using kerosene to help starting wood fires. Weirdly nostalgic but I'm glad I tested before buying a whole bottle. I don't think this could be considered a very versatile cologne and I don't know what situation this would really be appropriate for but I don't hate the smell itself.

10 hours later, I can still smell it. It performs well and turns into something that smells very similar to Spicebomb Extreme. I liked it more as time went on.

fana01

Gasoline and leather. This smells like a hunky mechanic with grime under his fingernails. He wears a leather jacket and rides motorcycles. He can fix anything. You have to be a real man to pull this off. Buyer beware.

Ksj_

This is truly a masterpiece

hivesofbees

I love nutmeg I love violet leaf i love a super gasoline-y leather accord and yet somehow this is not for me. I do like it but I think it would suit someone more serious and, frankly, masculine than myself. I think it might suit my engine-repairing sailing-instructing piano-tuning serious boy gen x virgo boyfriend QUITE well... maybe a gift in his future!

Spadz97

This fragrance is one that I have known about since I started collecting. Whether it be via marketing or YouTube videos (usually saying to avoid the scent). I finally got my nose on it earlier this year and wish I had been able to try it sooner as it has seriously impressed and blown me away.

A beautiful medley of masculine notes with the distinctive and often referenced petrol accord. It is a masculine, woody and somewhat fresh blend which is just irresistible to my wife. I can understand why it can be polarising for some however for me and my wife it has been a definite hit. I've owned a bottle for about a week now and each time I have worn it, my coworkers have all said how good I smell whilst wearing Fahrenheit.

Performance is nothing to scoff at either. I'm sure the original batches were stronger but I still get approximately 7/8hrs on my skin in the British winter and it projects very heavily for me. Dior has been a house that has really impressed me with their performance and Fahrenheit is no different.

An immensely sexy, masculine fragrance which i am absolutely adoring. I would definitely recommend you sample before you buy as it can be polarising to some and too masculine for many. This can definitely be a compliment machine if you wear this scent with confidence and it suits your style and demeanour.

DolFan420

A couple months ago I purchased a bottle and this is the first one I've bought in about 20 years.. I remember it smelling a lot different, I do t really pick up on that beautiful gassy note. Also at times I pick up a slight BO smell from it and I'm not the only one who has agreed with me. No it is not me, i promise lol , we have sprayed it on yesterday strips and on friends and a couple of them pointed it out as well. I also only get 2- 3 hours before it seems like it's gone. I don't know if it's reformulated if my sense of smell has changed or what. I like to maybe purchase a vintage bottle see if it's just the reformulation

dabatch

le male, Y, million and invictus fanbase must hate this one for 100%.
10/10.

MrMrBrian

It’s funny how you can leave a review of straight complaining because something isn’t what it used to be and then read the review from EJJ just before me on what could be one of the best reviews on Fahrenheit and see how valid his point is & maybe this is how Dior means for this to be now & why it’s survived all these years

MrMrBrian

Both the pro’s & The con’s on here say this is strong & that’s just Hi-larious!! “ Fahrenheit” means “Hot” Is anyone I guess old enough to know? I may be just imagining things but years ago Didn’t this kind of burn if you sprayed it directly in to the skin?? Seemed like I remember the black pepper making my eyes water if you oversprayed. Anyhow just before Christmas While last min shopping I had no fragrance on and figured “Hmm” It’s been awhile now & there should be a diff batchcode since the last time I tested Fahrenheit. What if I try it out just one week before 2024?? I was off in a corner away from all them ladies & ridiculously wet myself down with it really good ready to pull the trigger on me a better bottle than what I currently own if there was noticeable difference. But sadly the answer is still a no

LeatherCouch

Always coming back to this one. This is a sportscar with black leather seats and ultra masculine cologne in the atmosphere. Extremely comforting, nostalgic and sexy!!!

EJJ

A very unique barbershop fougere. I know some people don't like this but this not a fragrance that is meant to be experienced up close. It's magic is where you smell it at a distance.

Up close at first it has that gasoline smell but on the drown at a distance you feel like you are transported to an old school barbershop. The smell of aromatic spicy talcum powder... This is timeless.

FragrantThug

Anyone else not getting any projection / longevity from batch 3J08?

Billy K.

This has to be the most beautiful manly cologne of all-time, definitely in the top 10 ever, i think this deserve a minimum of 4.4 stars.

Tripokaridos

No no no , this is not like the classic Fahrenheit , Dior what are u doing ?
Common make it like the old version put an Elixir name sell it for twice the price but at least make it thick and powerful like the old one.

Let_it_be

Of all the reformulation, Fahrenheit is the most extreme. After LVMH bought Dior over 20 years ago, they had turned Fahrenheit into a different beast.

The current Fahrenheit = Petrol, Leather, Pine.
The original Fahrenheit = Honeysuckle, Balsamic, Ozonic.

Dior should really bring back the original as a special edition.

mosquitosprayer221

i really like this fragrance. its citrusy and smells like orange. can be used for younger and older men. would recommend

Srben

This has been reformulated. Save yourself the money and get Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-Benz for men (2012). It's actually a better version, at a better price, than the current watered down version.

DaveyPrince

Smells like a leather jacket that got dragged through a puddle of gasoline and left to dry in a mechanics shop.

vernafleur

To put it lightly, (to me) it smells like spicy canned mandarin oranges wrapped in leather and drizzled with gasoline and acetone. While not headache-inducing or terribly off-putting somehow, it is not something I'd highly recommend. From that description I'm pretty sure most everyone would be immediately put off, so the fact it doesn't make me want to run for the hilltops is somehow impressive. Definitely comes across as a more... mature(?) scent. I can see it having potential if layered with something creamier and smoother smelling to mellow out how sharp it is, but by itself it comes across a little too much like an overzealous middle aged man in a locker-room. I personally use a cocoa/shea lotion and that creaminess seems to partner with it well and make it much for bearable.

To me, the smell doesn't seem to last super long on skin, but will last a century if sprayed onto clothing. When first sprayed, its pretty strong and can be smelled from a decent distance, but after probably an hour of wear I don't think you'll be able to smell it unless you're close to someone, i.e. literally hugging them or doing their laundry.

By itself I reckon its a very overtly hyper-masculine scent, and if that's your thing, that's great, but if that's not what you're looking for this probably won't be for you. I definitely see it having some potential as an androgynous scent though honestly if lightly used and layered with something else like mentioned earlier.

rescent58

soaps and violets smell like an accomplished morning shaving / grooming routine. might start wearing it when im older.

HF1600ie

Someone tell me what's going on. It doesn't project or last like I remember it did some 20 years ago. I love it, but what the hell ??

frafilipo

Super "I don't give a sh." masculine fragrance which I would definitely buy. Very original. Gasoline is there no mistakes.
Edit: It is interesting fragrance but I figured out it is not for me. Smells like gasoline, forest, motor oil....I will skip

0xrafae

Fahrenheit is a dark, bold, and heavy fragrance with an old-school vibe. Its popularity is somewhat surprising to me, as it seems like a scent that would appeal to a more niche audience. Personally, I don’t find myself liking it at all. It certainly has earned its place in history, but that alone doesn't quite do it for me.

Tshahb

I love this so much.

Big white (and dusty purple) florals, complexity and quality, all for an absolute snip of a price!

The chamomile and hawthorn are strong and realistic, as are the other notes to be fair, which sets it apart from any other designer fragrance. No synthetic pong or aroma-chemical overdose.

Update:
This time, I'm getting the strong synthetic leather. Maybe it's my skin today. It still smells great but I'm not smelling what I did when I wrote the above glowing review... Sigh...

Versace_Eros

The only thing my grandfather has ever worn.

Main note smells like nutmeg, or grass, or gasoline on any given day.

It's all the same anyways.

Heinrich_B

Ok, as for the earlier versions of Fahrenheit, i donnot have anything to add, other then the fact that It was a really full rich fragrance, with a lot of notes, one of the Best.

Now, for the 2023 version.
In the first minutes, It smells Something like lye with a sort of sweetness to it. You know that buttery chemical feeling that lye has? It's here...Probably from those stupid fixation substances that they use nowadays in all fragrances.
After that, It changes into what i recall to be Fahrenheit. On clothes It has longevity, i will give It that, It stays for ages. Projection is good too.

My wife likes It though, She said that She liked the perfume i used and asked what It was, and It was this one. She rarely does that.

So, all in all, this 2023 version somewhat dissapointed me, especially for that different top notes of it, that lye association that strikes in my head.

Who in their right mind wants to smell like gasoline, right?

That was my initial reaction to Dior Fahrenheit, and it kept me at arm's length for years. If you've been doing the same fragrance-avoidance dance because of the whole "gasoline" thing, let me toss you a metaphorical life vest – we're diving into Fahrenheit territory!

For over three decades, Fahrenheit has been strutting its stuff in the fragrance history books. Picture this: a contemporary chypre profile, a hint of floral violet, and bam, you've got a unique petroleum-leather concoction. It's like the James Bond of fragrances – sophisticated, a bit mysterious, and always leaving an impression. With more bottles sold than you can count (well, maybe not literally), Fahrenheit is the rockstar of the perfume world.

Look at the bottle – red and yellow, like an eternal flame. Fahrenheit is the fragrance equivalent of a wise, confident friend who always knows what's up. Dior describes it as having a "distinctive and contrasting signature." Translation: it's a multitasker, like a fragrance superhero blending fresh Sicilian Mandarin, woody masculinity, and an unprecedented Violet accord. Creativity, distinction, and character – the perfume trifecta.

But wait, there's more! Beyond Dior's official spiel, Fahrenheit is like a complex novel – you discover something new with each chapter (or spray). The initial burst of juicy mandarin, aromatic lavender, and spicy nutmeg is like the opening scene of a blockbuster movie. Fast forward, and you're in the middle of a flower garden, dressed in badass black leather. It's like a fragrance fairytale, only cooler.

And about that gasoline smell? Hold your horses – don't bail too soon. Let it dry down a bit, like a fine wine opening up. After two hours, you've got a beautiful mix of raw black leather, earthy vetiver, and that infamous petroleum accord. It's like the fragrance equivalent of a plot twist – unexpected but oh-so-good.

In warmer weather, it's got some patchouli and muskiness going on, thanks to the Iso E-super molecule (fancy, huh?). This stuff makes Fahrenheit stick around longer than that one friend who never leaves the party.

To sum it up, Dior Fahrenheit is like the timeless rock ballad you can't get out of your head. It's been slaying the fragrance game for over three decades, defining what a black leather fragrance should be. So, if you've been tiptoeing around it, it's time to embrace the gasoline and let Fahrenheit be your fragrant adventure. Trust me; it's a journey worth taking.

Happy sniffing!

I just took a few spritzes from my 12 year old bottle. Stunning . The new version relies on the violet leaf and it feels like there is NOTHING else going on. It's weightless. There are PLENTY of vintage bottles out there folks. Treat yourself. And if you ever see the SHOWER GEL in the "planet box" - go for it! It's so strong that you can dab it on as a "solid perfume" and everyone will smell you !

ThatGothBBW

Really unique fragrance.

The carnation is very prominent, and probably the most noticable note on myself.

It's probably the most prominent note on my skin throughout the entirety of the fragrance. It gives it a touch of a dated vibe for sure. The citrus is in this is quite bitter, but not long lived on myself. Even though it's not listed, the combination of leather and cedar almost give off a smokey vibe. My skin pulls out the leather and cedar very HARD! Because of the patchouli, this has an earthy vibe to it. As it warms up on the skin, and as time passes, I totally get the gasoline vibe people speak of. I honestly think that the Hawthorne is main culprit of that. Although, that gasoline note is much stronger in fragrances like (opulent red by lattafa) but these aren't similar fragrances in anyway. But that gasoline vibe is WAY stronger in that fragrance.

The longer it's on the skin, the better it becomes

This smells like an older man who rides a motorcycle, who had smoked a cigarette at some point, he constantly wears a thick leather jacket, and does a bit of woodworking. But he isn't a full blown burly man. He knows how to clean up right when the times comes. To me, I always envision this is what Travis Walton would smell like.

In my opinion, this isn't sexy, intoxicating, or alluring, and I wouldn't want to smell this on a man. This is for a dude who wants to just smell different and unlike most men his age.

I will add this though. This fragrance keeps bringing in a new element the longer you wear it, it's constantly evolving. Which I can't say I've ever experienced that often.

Wear on time on this for me, was pretty awful. In my opinion, for being a Dior fragrance, this was below average performer. I've had better luck with celebrity fragrances. Upon that first spray, it's a big blast of fragrance for only about ten Minutes or so. But, it QUICKLY dials back. This was completely gone off of my skin within four hours. On clothes I can imagine you'd get more wear time, projection, etc. This might just be my skin chemistry alone. So keep that in mind

All in all, this is a unique fragrance, and it won't be for everyone, especially for the younger crowd. It has no sweetness or lasting fruitiness, so keep that in mind if that's what you're looking for. It's a bit dated for my taste. But then again, I'm not big on dated fragrances, and I am a woman lol.

Detman101

Holy shinola this is strong!
(I picked up a bottle of the EDP to go with my bottle of the Parfum. The EDP showed up first so I'm wearing it first.)
I never owned a bottle of Fahrenheit as a young man, I figured i'd give it a go and this DOES NOT disappoint! The "Leather" note is actually palatable! I feared it becoming overwhelming and overbearing...but this is pretty smooth, in spite of how powerful it is! Two sprays on a test napkin lit up my whole room!!! I'm going to wear this tomorrow layered with some "Sweetly Known" and see how it works out...

Dior Fahrenheit: Scent of the Maverick

Alright, let's dive into the Dior Fahrenheit. This ain't your run-of-the-mill fragrance; it's the olfactory manifestation of independence, my friend.

So, Fahrenheit walks into the room like it just conquered a mountain – bold, confident, and unapologetic. This ain't the fragrance for the sheep following the herd; it's for the lone wolf, the one who charts his own course.

The opening notes hit you like a wake-up call from the universe, a slap in the face saying, "Pay attention." The violet and bergamot dance together in a symphony that screams, "I don't need your approval; I'm here to make a statement."

Then there's the leather. Oh, the leather. It's not the subtle hint you find in your granddad's cologne; it's the declaration of dominance. You catch a whiff, and suddenly, you're in the driver's seat of a vintage convertible, wind in your hair, and the world at your feet.

The floral notes come in, not to soften the blow but to add a touch of sophistication. It's like wearing a tailored suit to a punk rock concert – unexpected, but damn, it works.

Now, the nutmeg and cedar. It's the spice that says, "I'm not here to blend in; I'm here to stand out." Fahrenheit is the fragrance equivalent of a rebellious smirk, challenging you to keep up.

And the dry down? It's the lingering echo of a motorcycle speeding into the horizon, leaving everyone in its wake wondering, "Who was that?"

In conclusion, Dior Fahrenheit is not for the faint-hearted or those who seek the comfort of the crowd. It's for the free spirit, the renegade, the one who defines his own rules. Wear it, and you're not just wearing a fragrance; you're wearing an attitude. Cheers to Fahrenheit, the rebel in a bottle.

liikeri

Really not that challenging that people think it is, maybe if you compare it to now trending ”men’s” fragrances - then yes

It has noticeable freshness to the iconic scent!
I would say its smudgy-fresh-masculine

I get a craving for it from time to time after all the sweetness overload
Peace!

Mississippi Mudcat

I just purchased this fragrance and wore it for the first time today. Instead of getting the gasoline vibe that most people mention below I just smell leather, vetiver, nutmeg and violet leaf.

I like this one thus far, but was actually looking forward to the gasoline note.

spicyoreo

Think of it as you’re riding a motorcycle with a leather jacket. Amazing, not for everyone though. I suggest sampling first.

Zenith Corvus

Fahrenheit is NOT joking around, guys!

This is an ultra masculine fragrance with very strong leather, spicy, and woody notes. Someone even described it as “a dad or uncle from his youth when he used to wear leather jackets and ride a motorcycle.” This couldn’t be described any better!

The sillage is immense! Just one spray and you are bound to receive a lot of attention from people. Fahrenheit really makes one stand out from the crowd like an alpha wolf.

It’s safe to say that this fragrance is ideal for outdoor environments and cold weathers. Do not wear this in enclosed spaces or during the summer!

Although I’m more of a citrus/sweet type of guy, Fahrenheit is a fragrance I occasionally go for during the cold winter months. It’s dangerously addictive!

I suggest you test this fragrance at a local perfume store before thinking of buying it. Fahrenheit is not for everyone. Some will love it, some will hate it.

Fv

This fragrance is great. It’s like it has different smells throughout the day. I wear this in school and get nothing but compliments on how I smell. however I recommend that you don’t overspray because the smell can be strong so I just do one on my neck and one on each inner arm. Overall 8/10

1997gummybear

Cucumber Gatorade vibes. I really wish it smelled more like gasoline....

Luna_J

First, let me say that I sometimes suspect that the greatest threat to the enjoyment of fragrance isn’t COVID-induced anosmia, nor IFRA, but reading too many reviews on Fragrantica… Swamped by all the clamour about performance, paranoia about reformulations, and trading in gender trope clichés, A person can forget just how special a great fragrance is. I knew absolutely nothing about fragrance when I wore this at 18, but loved wearing Fahrenheit (the very strong, very floral iteration of that time), which I think I had purchased unsniffed in response to the artistic magazine advertisements(!) For those reading the many reviews here saying that Fahrenheit takes time to adjust to -- I agree! I wore this thirty-three years ago and, having acquired a new bottle not long ago, have taken considerable time to adjust once more.

I still struggle to dissect it. The relationship between the composition and its bottle design fascinate me, as does the way that the ‘gasoline’-like leather note hovers around me long into the day, even as the fading scent on the hairs on the back of my wrist smell like the tangy-sweet edges of citrus, cedar, and flowers. I can objectively register notes like lavender, mandarin orange, violet leaf and vetiver, but their individual identities as notes are so radically recontextualized in synthesis it seems pointless to try to isolate them. Really (and still) a great, distinctive and reverie-inducing perfume.
P.S. I cannot relate to those who insist women hate this – not my experience at all...

No2pencil

This is a very good fragrance, very unique in my opinion. But whenever I smell it, all I can think of is Axe natural hair cream for men. They legit smell the same. Axe was definitely trying to copy the Fahrenheit scent with that product

Deekerr16

Bought this fragrance as kind of a novelty for the gasoliney smell. The gasoline smell can be dissected into florals if you sift through it, and you kind find different layers contributing to the scent if you look for them. So you don't always think of it as a gasoline scent, but others still may. Very oldschool and bit expensive for a novelty fragrance.

Highoctanehome

Dior, hope you’re reading this. To guarantee the success of the next new Fahrenheit EDT flanker, make it with original super strong vintage gasoline formulation and call it “1988”! All I ask for payment of my services is a free case of the new juice!

dudebro

2021 batch and it's great. The gasoline slowly transforms into subtle, fresh florals for well over 8 hours.

ignore reformulationist conspirators 😜 25 years after its release and Fahrenheit is still lighting it up!

Fahrbomberosjeans

I watched scentenos tierlist and his description of the frag intrigued me to blindbuy this.
I love it. It really smells special and is my favorite fragrance at the moment. Very masculine fragrance which has that rugged appeal. The gasoline scent is not very prominent but can be smelled up close when you just spray it on. Its that kind of smell that makes me want to bury my nose in it, I spray this on in the morning and I get whiffs of this troughout my work day. Which I dont get with any fragrance. I really feel confident wearing this anywhere Its a very badass perfume that makes you stand out as somebody who takes care of himself but doesnt go with every new trend and whatever is popular at the moment and has some kind of rugged quality about him… will make you stand out in comparasion to other perfumes even though I think I would pass on this in a store If I just smelled it on a paper… it really comes alive when you spray this on. It is not a kind of smell that will get the most compliments ever about how nice you smell and I believe you will have more of an subconscious message with this smell. So people will like it without actually realizing how nice it smells.. its more of a “you smell so good” situation than “this perfume smells good” type of thing. Also my grandpa used to wear this according to my mom so that might also trigger some emotions in me which make me like it. Id say it smells woody, musky, very slightly sweet and dominant. Will buy it again one day. It gives me confidence.

ieop8ny

my first dior frag. so timeless.

SmoothHomme

A thick wooden cigar filled with leather and nutmeg. Ashy smell and ozonic notes are somewhat present. Fades to masculine tire smell with a bit of the aforementioned nutmeg. Somewhat dry. Ombre leather is not a Terminator smell, this is. 8.2/10

didilinlun

whenever i take the cap off the whole room starts smelling like pomelo rind (i love it lol)

Kallero

Timeless masterpiece. After a thousand perfumes I always come and will come back to Fahrenheit by Dior. This will always be on top of my list. Absolute masculinity in a bottle! The 2023 formulation is amazing.

Smellybutgood

FYI, nose maturity or a lack thereof is a real thing. For the longest I could not get over the petroleum smell until something changed.

GIVE THIS ONE SOME TIME as some fragrances take time to understand what they are meant to represent.

That’s why I don’t expect everyone to understand it straight away. Even if you don’t like the concept of this perfume, I highly recommend that you at least sample it.

Dior Fahrenheit has much more in its composition than Dior is willing to tell you. Each time you wear it, you’ll get a different experience.

The fragrance opens up with juicy mandarin orange, a touch of aromatic lavender, and spicy nutmeg. Violet and black leather are noticeable since the beginning and the famous petroleum accord could be a potential deal-breaker for newbies.

I urge you not to scrub it off your skin and let it dry down a little bit. Every masterpiece fragrance in some way or another can be challenging for the first time.

Stick it trough, since it’s well worth it. After a short few minutes, we start to experience the mid-stage or better said Fahrenheit glorious development.

If you cannot get over the petroleum smell in EDT, try the Le Parfum version.

amberdesouza

I have a 2013 batch 100 ml edt nearly full bottle if anyone interested dm me

realmarkvon

Girls hate this. Guys like this. Ron Swanson smells like this.

The difference between fans of Dior Fahrenheit and the fans of Eau Sauvage, Shalimar and Chanel No.5? We know this fragrance is dated and smells like ass to most people, and we admit it.

I wear it when I mow the lawn, because my lawn mower is electric. This makes the experience masculine again.

I wear it when I'm alone or when I'm with people my mom's age. I freaking love this.

DariaDark

This one is my mans signature everyday scent. Needless to say, I do everything in my power to find him something else...

It is not a bad scent per se, it is just not something I like. I don't even want to describe it it detail, I would be needlessly negative. I know my man really likes it... And oversprays it like a madman. Ah well.

Sillage is moderate, it is decent in the office. Longevity is great. I smell the clothes for days...

HankTM

Doesn't smell like natural petrol as it's described in many reviews; the dry woods just give it some serious harshness in the opening. the lavender and bergamot is apparent. the base reminds of a stern man wearing a leather jacket.

yazzakasbah

Had it back in the 80-90's. At some point I found it too heavy and went more for Cacharel type scents. I really liked the air of fruity petrol though.

Ben88

This is known as a good winter and autumn fragrance but my experience with Fahrenheit is that it always reminded me of nostalgic summer days: your dad doing errands, mowing the grass and pumping the car up with red diesel (albeit illegal), and later after a warm rain, the evening sun shining on the oily rainbow as some of the gas leaked down the road. It does remind me of petrol stations but in a fond nostalgic way. Plus I love the bottle, looks like it contains fire instead of fragrance.

Vätte

Mad Max after a bath. Aftershave, clean skin infused with 30 years of gasoline.

Or maybe it’s a night out on the town in Christine, the demon car. Would possibly smell exactly like that layered with something smokier and rubbery.

bakalovboy

Out of every single fragrance I have tried/owned, Fahrenheit edt is my all time favorite without a doubt. You either love this fragrance or you hate it, with not much in between. I wasn't around when this originally came out in the 80's, nor have I been around a family member who would wear this all the time. So my love for this fragrance isn't simply a nostalgia factor, but rather for the scent itself. Is it old school? I guess. But, I am in my early 20's and can confidently say that Fahrenheit trumps all the dior Sauvages and Blue de Chanels that have been running rampant this past decade.

I only wish the performance was a bit better, both in projection and longevity. If it were stronger, I would be 100% ok with selling off the rest of my collection, and only wearing Fahrenheit as my signature . Nonetheless, after pulling the trigger on full bottle, it seems as though my hunt for the perfect scent has officially come to end...

alihanalav

Perfect masculine perfume! Old school and animalic leather, not like a Ombre Leather’s leather. Really dirty and careless. Added some powerful green notes and make it even fresh scent. It’s an addiction I got from my father and I will always use this perfume till it’s dislisted from Dior which will never be. 10/10

normythebear

I bought a bottle in 2021 but was disappointed that it didn't smell much like what I remember it smelling like on others or when sampling it in the store. You know, that gasoline smell people talk about. I put it on the shelf and didn't touch it for 2 years. I tried it again recently, and now that gasoline smell is magically there. Now I can't get enough of it!

Fragranceaddict24

If you know anything about me, you know that I have an unhealthy obsession with Poison-- *the* 80s perfume marketed to big-haired sluts with the promise of stopping men dead in their tracks. Forty years later, and it still has that effect-- I can attest. Grapes and flowers and sex-- although branded for "ladies", it's just so damn opulent, anyone with enough libido to keep up can pull it off... Tonight though, it's the male counterpart fragrance I'd all but forgotten that I'm celebrating... Three years after Poison's huge success, Dior released another fragrance-- just as sexually-fueled and forward thinking, but this time labeled "pour home" (and "pour homme" it was.) While Poison's rich boldness allows it to seep into androgenous territory for anyone with the balls to wear it, Farenheit is a mens-only fragrance through and through... It was created in the now-antiquated 80s definition of hyper-masculinity (which I somewhat shamefully admit, I still have a terrible weakness for.) The image behind Farenheit is one of a (then-modern-day)-demigod-- steroid muscles, a deeeeeep year-round tan, thick dark hair (everywhere), preferably accessorised with a car too fast to worry about speed limits and an open bottle of Jack Daniels... It is LEATHER, quite literally on steroids. Not like the (equally sexy) worn, brown, farmhand leather of 70s mossy fragrances... No, this leather is black, glossy, and cut just a little bit too tightly. Polished, showy, anointed with ample sweat-- but the nightsweat of dancing and fucking instead of a hard day tending cattle... The only other discernible note is GASOLINE. Leaded gas, (not the neutered version of today), the smell of racing fuel, think yellow coke... The rest of the notes all fade into the background-- hints of roadside honeysuckle, treemoss and hot asphalt, maybe a Marlboro red flicked out the window at 100 MPH, too quickly to fully process. The entire effect is FAST. Fast men in fast cars, hunting for fast women for fast sex. The scent itself reminds me of Bruce Springsteen in the "I'm On Fire" video-- in fact I'm almost positive this is exactly what he smelled like in that white t-shirt and coveralls. No doubt, the historically accurate wearers were largely horny gym-rats and Cruë-heads with too much money on the way to the bars-- but they *wanted* to convey the "I work on my own car" image, and with this, they did... As I was pulling out clothes and looking toward tomorrow night's sweaty bathhouse sexcapades I was trying to think of a "fuck me" fragrance to wear... Usually, Poison is my answer to that. It's syrupy, seductive, and die-hard sexy. But it's decadent and complex-- the sort of smell you pass on the street or pick up across the bar and follow-- the kind of smell you can't escape, find yourself talking to, light its cigarette. It's perfect for tight clothes and smudgy eyeliner-- seducing coworkers and making straight men question their sexuality... But in a bathhouse, stripped of your clothes, with wet hair and steam-sweat, surrounded by people who already *know* they're craving a man, you need something a little more direct and hard without any soft edges-- something that says "jawline and hair." That's when I remembered an old boyfriend "Farenheit" who fits the bill perfectly... Straight out of the tanning bed I headed for Ulta and found him sitting proudly as ever in his flame-hot bottle. To my (pleasant) surprise, I found that unlike Poison, which although still unmistakable in its current iteration isn't *quite* the 3D version that still exists in vintage bottles, this modern Farenheit hasn't suffered from any castration. Any chance that I was suffering from scent-nostalgia dissolved when our cashier at the liquor store told Chris and I that we smelled delicious... As for tomorrow, if I find myself followed by a trail of dim-lit men past every steamy-tiled corner I turn, I'll chalk it up to Dior's sorcery. I'll keep you posted. ;-)

rivibear

just the right amount of husky.

schmooschmoo

I can see how people can get turned off by the opening. But, like others here have said, it's the dry down where the magic happens. Peppery, clean, powdery, and a little warm, with the iris really shining through. Performance is still better than most scents out there, as well. A love for me.

NiTrOz

What can I say? Its my signature scent, ppl would like it or not, For me it´s also a bit harsh in beginning ...Gasoline, burnt rubber, haha its cool as Im a leatherjacket rocker guy...but the moment I spray it on it´s like going back to the 90s, the nostalgy is worth everything in the world, then I "Know" what to come. The drydown after 3,5h+...it calms down and exposes the Violet it is just beautiful. Some ladies of my age....knows this is a nostalgic killer! :D...but have to add: it´s about the drydown and the sillage, not to sniff up close!
>maybe not for the masses on newly sprayed and not close to skin<.
So those who are eger to try this in the younger generation, wait for the drydown, Then it will get your attention!
It´s great to combine 4 sprays of this and 1-2 sprays of the Le Parfum one, perfection!

Smell 9,3/10
Longevity 8/10
Sillage 7,5/10
Versatility 6,5/10
Uniqueness: 9,5/10
Value and Quality 10/10

PlagueMask

This is the fragrance that made me realise I loved the art of perfumery.

Trueblood84

I remember the first time I smelled Fahrenheit I was about 13 years old and had only had experience with extremely safe scents like Eternity edt, Polo Sport, etc. Wow was I in for a shock! Yes it smells similar to petrol in the Opening, but there is also a beautiful blend of notes that support the petrol accord, that set it apart from just spilling gasoline on oneself. This stuff is masculinity in a bottle, I've only just received my bottle of the current formula, and what I can say. It's not quite as heavy as it once was especially on the gasoline note, but for me that's a good thing it was a little much in the summer. this formulation is more versatile being slightly fresher with toned down petrol. I honestly love it still, but am slightly disappointed as this almost feels like a completely different fragrance to me as compared to the vintage formula.
Longevity is average, but projection is great off my skin. From first impression I give this a 9 out of 10 if it has good longevity a perfect 10. It is timeless, has signature appeal and these days will set you apart from the sea of blues currently ruling the market.

Tmanarl

Wore this yesterday and really was not feeling it. I will revisit when it gets colder but there was a strange mixture of aromas that didn't gel with me.

EDIT: First really cold day of the season so I tried this again. I'm still not feeling it. I don't get gasoline but it does give off a fume-like aroma that doesn't appeal to me. This decant is going in the trash.

Plachr

Ok I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess the true story behind this fragrance was that this was an accident that happened in the lab, and caused so much surprise it became a phenomenon.

There was nothing before this that could possibly have been the inspiration for it — it seems to come completely out of the blue and doesn’t resemble any Dior (or anything else) before it. But somebody brave and creative spotted the genius potential of this accident in the lab and went for it. The rest is history.

The result is sublime, though. Truly beautiful and an utterly timeless scent.

Chanel de Lanvin

It is the result of all the current reformulations in all these commercial and industrial brands, we must move on.
Other brands do a good job, just step out of your comfort zone and do some research.
You have to evolve in life 😉

farook

The batches after 2010 are hopeless. I sprayed 7-8 spritz and after 1/2 hour, nobody could smell anything. Such contrary to the powerhouse when people complained of me over praying after 2 spritz. This is not Fahrenheit, should change the name to Cheating by Dior. So. Freaking. Disappointing!

chopps007

I have an original bottle of this from lates 1990s or early 2000s before it was reformulated. I just put it on my arm. Most of my aftershaves evaporate but this is still here. In the bottle and quite a bit in it. It smells unbelievably good. Scents like this, cool water, ck1, aqua de gio, Hugo by Hugo boss, Tommy were the scents of the 90s when they were projecting beasts, loved by all.

markactor

This is what Danny Zuko (Grease) would have worn after quaffing his hair with Brylcream then changing the oil and removing the excess with turpentine soaked in a gasoline rag that he used to wipe the sweat off his neck. This is worn by men; blue-collar as expected and white-collar who tinkers in the garage as a hobby, never quite finishing that Ferrari Car-Kit on a stripped down Fiero. That said - it still rock no matter who you are.

Scent: 8.5/10
Projection: 6/10
Longevity: 6/10
Value: 7/10... unless you're nostalgic, then crank it up!

Kratosfr

I don't know if this is healthy but spill some gasoline on your skin and watch the smell and the drydown. You'll get like 95% accurate review of this fragrance's smell and drydown.

rakeshchauhan201

DO NOT BELIEVE THE REVIEWS HERE.
Since few years this is just scented water that is going to last for like 10-15 mins. You can try every trick in the book like manceration, layering, isoe super, BUT IT WONT WORK

Anyone with older batches & vintage batches will confirm ITS NOT WORTH to buy fahrenheit now.
Its super lacking in performance to a point even paying $30 for a bottle will be not advised.

Best way to enjoy this scent is to buy sample and keep sniffing it, cause the scent profile is probably the best violetleaf i have ever smelled.

Once again im warning, do not buy full bottle, performance is top tier garbage.

JongheonKim

smells like heat and ginseng spicy. feels like high temperature and very masculine. it might give you a lot of headache. very strong scent.

SgtButtCheeks

This is a gasoline soaked leather jacket with ceder tree needles stuffed in all the pockets.
Loved it in the 80’s and 90’s but then my tastes changed and I couldn’t stand smelling it let alone wearing it.
Fast forward to today and it’s now a delicious monster of an aromatic fougere that couldn’t be more masculine if the bottle grew chest hair.
I’m wearing it to work and it’s garnered a ton of attention. Some nostalgia…some just loving the scent profile.
It’s a really strong wear. This is why I hold on to bottles I don’t necessarily care for. Tastes change. Noses mature. Glad I kept this one. It’s a true performance beast in a world full of skin scents.

TerreD'Profumo

This is pure human ash scent.
Assaultive and aggressive.

kashii

This and GIT are my guilty pleasures as a teen

Grew up smelling this on dad every day and WOW the smell is just as awesome today as then.

Insanely masculine, smells like a gas station, really. Suited either for that serious office guy or an old bad boy with leather jackets on.

Just wow. One of my favourites.

JusttheFactsMan

#210 in my "Tour de Fragrance"

The first time I smelled this was taking inventory after arresting a burglar who made a habit of stealing the fragrances from the residences he robbed. I thought it smelled like one of the additives we used to make Texaco "Sky Chief" Premium Gasoline at the refinery where I worked Summers between my years at college. I liked that smell, though inhaling all those fumes probably damaged me genetically in ways that have yet to manifest themselves. Does the same await the users of this fragrance? It is delightful yet has an air of petro-toxicity.

Definitely an acquired taste, I think. The gasoline scent does fade out after 45 minutes to an hour and the vanilla dry down is pleasant, if common as dirt and boring. As I recall this scent barely penetrated the market and sold for $14-$17 in 1988. It's going for $150 today, but then again gasoline was 96 cents a gallon in 1988.

This stuff is probably something you wear for your own enjoyment. Not sure what reactions it would get from those who smell it on you, but projection is very short-lived, so that's probably of no concern. Up to you. I won't be adding it to my collection.

pedroquadros

I’m 19 yo and this is definitely one of my favorite scents, I do have many perfumes in my collection but I approach to this one quite often, it’s addictive it’s sexy, it’s manly, not beast mode definitely but it works. I’m a living proof that perfumes don’t have age, specially with every young man using blue scents this is one to stand out. Scent wise I don’t have nothing to declare, everyone here knows what i’m talking about lol

As a young man in my 20s, my fragrance collection has always been filled with modern and contemporary scents. However, my olfactory journey took an exhilarating turn when I discovered Fahrenheit by Dior - a classic gem from the 80s. This fragrance, reminiscent of a bygone era, managed to captivate me with its mature and timeless allure.

Upon first spritz, I was transported to an era I had only heard about but never experienced firsthand—the electrifying and bold '80s. Fahrenheit opens with a burst of fresh and zesty citrus, mingling with a unique and intoxicating blend of violet and leather. It's a symphony of scents that exudes confidence and charisma, making me feel like I've stepped into the shoes of an '80s icon.

The juxtaposition of warm and cool notes in Fahrenheit is what truly sets it apart and has earned it a place among my collection of '80s powerhouses. Alongside Fahrenheit, I have the likes of Kouros, Paco Rabanne pour homme, and Drakkar Noir—fragrances that defined an era of unapologetic masculinity and daring charisma.

I just received a 2004 batch, and I had to try it immediately. While the opening was really dusty and aggressive (did it go sour all these years, or am I just misremembering how it smelled decades ago? or is it that it's summer?), dry-down is just pure bliss. So much so, that it's hard for me to decide between EDT and EDP now.

This is what perfumery must produce. They can't? It's so weird.

A friend who doesn't know anything about frags smelled on me and asked "that smells pretty old-school, what is it?" so yeah it's very accurate to describe it like that. To me it smells like a sweet mixture of leather, gasoline, wood and some fruity/flowery undertones. So I smell a pleasant, sweet, flowery and fruity mixture which I like, but it's drowned in this sharp and somewhat artificial, plastic-y leather/woody and the aforementioned gasoline-like base that makes it not my style and ages it, but also firmly frames it as a masculine and "tough" smell.
It's the kind of cologne a guy who wears leather jackets would wear, or a middle-aged-to-old man who used to party a lot and do cool stuff like extreme sports in his youth, and even though he's now older he's still got a fun charm to him (it reminds me some of my dad's friends actually). Not my style but objectively a good frag and a classic for a reason. Not recommended for younger guys unless they have a biker/tough guy style.

Cut grass, wood BBQ grill, crisp lager, Fahrenheit. The official fragrance of Sunday in the summer. Well... Saturday night & Sunday in the summer 😉

Don't be scared of layering this. Wait until the top settles & this layers under just about anything. Some random favorites:
-Lacoste 12 12 white (Acqua Fahrenheit)
-Afnan supremacy incense
-Mr Burberry Indigo
-Halston 1-12
-Montale Red Vetiver
-montale Full Incense
-Bentley for men intense
-Every ADP I've tried except oud

2021 batch performs well above average for a designer frag.

Bruce Springsteen meets Aaron Taylor Johnson and they really get along.

For anyone who thinks the re-formulation don't project then get a second opinion from someone who can smell you.

Don't overspray. It's strong!

Perhaps I am being nostalgic but this fragrance is magnificent.
A masculine scent with hints of wood, green, spice, tobacco, a touch of cocoa and leather.
I still have a bottle till this day, and I wear it to remember times of youthful exuberance and promise.
It never ages, and has a long lasting scent.
Hoping to get positively noticed? Wear this to a dinner event, and feel your confidence shine through.

Peculiar, unique. The dirty, oily leather plays the leading role. The opening in particular is difficult and hard. But Fahrenheit gets smoother, slightly floral and the drydown is a treat.

For many, it's a classic, masculine scent. But not for me. I find Fahrenheit to be absolutely unisex! And honestly, when a mature woman wears it, she looks very sexy to me!

tried the current formulation a few days ago, it definitely still is Fahrenheit but i cannot accurately discern the current formulation form the previous ones as all i have is memory to go on but i will try to best summarize what i experienced from this version
you definitely still get the gasoline vibe so to speak although i do believe it to be toned down as opposed to before of course leather is omnipresent as well, in no way is this "unwearable" as some make it out to be but it still is very far away from being blind buy safe, if you dig this sort of vibe (gasoline, leather and 1990's nostalgia, i think it came out in 1988) you will enjoy this frag, apart from what i smell i think that this is very well put together, it is Dior after all, the bottle and atomizer are fine, i had a glance at the packaging as well, it seems to comply with everything so kudos to Dior
this has been reformulated obviously but it hasn't been killed in the same degree as YSL LNDL has, i believe Fahrenheit to still have some oomph to it, i can't attest numerically to it's performance as i seldom have the liberty or wish to smell like leather gasoline but i don't think it would perform any worse than frags that are in the 8h longevity bracket
i personally have differing thoughts on performance in regard to every frag i have ever tried, save terre d hermes which performs every single time, the rest, or all the others i have tried and or used to be precise, sometimes perform, sometimes they don't, i understand this to be a combination of plural factors which i have no desire to bore anyone with...
to sum up, give Fahrenheit a try, but in a store, don't hype buy it...for that matter don't hype buy any frag...try it first people :)
cheers

this one's reputation as a hypermasculine scent for ~rEaL mEn OnLy~ is ironic because, while the opening notes are indeed very strong and not traditionally feminine, the dry down is very soft, floral, and clean. if this perfume were a person it'd be someone loud with a lot of bravado, but if you spend enough time with them, they let down that macho facade and you'll find someone gentle and caring. if you hate gasoline or leather, it's probably not worth wearing and waiting for that beautiful dry down when you could find it immediately with other perfumes - but if you like them or appreciate the duality, it's definitely worth a try regardless of your age/gender. i am young and not masculine at all LMAO but enjoy the whole scent profile!

DVDEK

Very sentimental fragrance to me, very intense and dreamy leather + florals.

Dk what all the ingredient notes are talking about. Smells like warm grapefruit rubbed into fine leather. Excellent atomizer on par with homme cologne 2022.

The secret here is the violet leaf and the leather which makes people run away.
Masterpiece legend. Still rocking today after 40years.

Yowzaaaaa…..this is probably the most confusing juice I’ve ever smelled. I couldn’t figure out if I was falling in love or if I was being repulsed. Back and forth…back and forth..between the two…Seriously…

I wrote down my thoughts on this, but am just now posting on the complete mindf*ck of the experience.

I’ve had a sample vial of this in my stash for YEARS, hell, maybe even close to a few decades (no clue WHY as I’m a Gal), and one day awhile back I just randomly decided to pull it out and put a few drops on my light jacket that I was wearing at the time. Upon smelling it, my automatic and immediate thought was of a dude, on a Harley at a gas station, pumping his gas with a cig dangling out of his mouth (weird, 🤔 not sure why Harley Dude showed up as a visual but of course the gas station visual is understandable). OY… All because of the enormous Petrol note that just completely INVADES your nostrils from the get go, and that is quickly followed by the leather that is not faint in the LEAST. The Petrol and Leather here mean business. They come out a ‘blazin and are there to start the party and also to f*ck some sh*t up FO’ REAL!!

But then, wait…something lovely is forcing its way to the forefront..the Violet…so nice…whaaaat… Violet tries to tell petrol and leather to calm the f*ck down, but then, like a slap in the face, one that you had no idea was a ‘comin, here comes that gas and leather again pushing, NO, ahem…punching their way back to the front. It is a BATTLE…the petrol and the Leather team up because they refuse to calm the f*ck down just because Violet told them to, and together they fight pretty Violet, who refuses to go down without a fight…because well…this is no shrinking Violet. Lavender tries to come to Violet’s rescue but is beat down like a lil Bitch… shouldn’t have even bothered, Violet makes a valiant attempt alone and frankly, doesn’t really need any assistance.

Love and repulsion over and over, back and forth. I involved myself in this olfactory fight for a good 3 hours before all the craziness left me with nothing but complete confusion and a migraine. At the time I decided to leave the party/fight/shenanigans, there wasn’t a clear winner…it was a draw. My head seriously felt like it had hit the asphalt.

All I can really say is…..BEAST
(early 2000’s version)

Just picked up this classic and am addicted. That beautiful violet puts a pungent floral bite right into the animalic leather. Its not going to appeal to everyone, this was designed with a personality not just to smell nice.

Distorted_808s

Opium fragrance if worn correctly 🪦🖤🕷️🗝️♟️. Personally it isn’t too cloying, 4-5 sprays gives me about ~10 hours longevity with alright to good projection (my olfactory could definitely be fatigued). I love the uniqueness and how daring the fragrance is. Makes me feel like a vampire every time I wear it. Def an all season thing if pulled off properly.

Cherryade

Bought a new version last year....what a shame; it's just a watered down version of the scent I knew and loved about 20 years ago. It's nothing compared to the original, silage & longevity on me are really poor especially for the price now.

Psalzarulo

I'm pretty impressed with the opening. The leather hides behind the sweet, earthy wood and the ozone, but it's still able to peak out just enough.

The dry down becomes much more gently and floral although I didn't find the opening to be very harsh as others have mentioned.

If you enjoy something that screams MAN then you will probably be interested in this. Even if not, I still think it's a great scent but this is a full priced fragrance so you'd have to really enjoy it to consider buying it.

This is a solid 8/10 with the disclaimer that this is a bold/masculine scent. I'll note that my partner loved Ombre Leather by TF but didnt like this very much. Maybe if they had a better reaction, it could be an 8.5/10

PSA: you can definitely wear this all year, all seasons, day or night.
Nothing like wearing Fahrenheit on a hot Summer night on the town or traversing down desert roads in the heat, mirage boiling on the asphalt horizon

GioiaVerratti

Dior Fahrenheit, launched in 1988, stands as an iconic fragrance that has withstood the test of time. While the fragrance landscape has evolved over the past 35 years, Fahrenheit remains a symbol of a different era. It embodies a time when smoking was still cool, men embraced their passions, relished indulgent foods, and exuded a distinct scent that matched their lifestyle.

In today's world, where gourmand fragrances dominate, Fahrenheit harks back to a time when men desired the power and allure of Mustangs, Corvettes, and Harleys. It embodies the spirit of freedom, adventure, and masculinity that was celebrated back then. In today's world of electric cars, veganism and health gurus, wearing Fahrenheit is like embracing a rebellious act, akin to donning a biker jacket.

Fahrenheit's unique composition sets it apart from other fragrances. It combines contrasting elements of warmth and coolness, with prominent notes of violet, leather, and a hint of gasoline. The result is a daring and complex aroma that evokes both sensuality and ruggedness.

Fahrenheit represents a bold reminder of the passions and desires of a different time. For those seeking a scent that captures the spirit of an era and stands out from the crowd, Fahrenheit continues to be a compelling choice.

WOW, I just found one of my favourite scents ever. Takes me back to the opening scene of Vincent Gallo's "The Brown Bunny". Burned rubber, petrol, what I would imagine a NASCAR race in the 80s would smell like, if you were the asphalt. More than 30 years later, this still smells avant-garde. Burning violets and racing leather jackets. Perfect.

Anabol2336

Born in 1985 I have very fond memories of this one growing up. My father used to take me out for a haircut and lunch every Saturday in the early to mid 90's and we would ride in his red 1975 Corvette with a gorgeous leather interior and removable targa top. Anyway he always had a ritual of shaving before we went and on his bathroom counter was Dior Fahrenheit, Drakkar Noir, Kouros, and Antaeus. He always had the bathroom window open and outside was a rosebush and some violets which always gave off a wonderful fragrance in spring. After shaving my father put on his leather jacket and boots and then topped it off a hefty dose of fragrance and he often would spray me with whichever one he was using as well and I recall Fahrenheit being my favorite of the bunch. To this day this fragrance reminds me of my father and that old Corvette. It just smells like leather, gasoline, some florals and shaving cream to me and in the best possible way. As far as wearability nowadays goes I would put this one as more wearable than say Kouros or Antaeus, but less wearable than Drakkar Noir. Some women adore it while others despise it. The Mercedes fragrance is actually perfect because it takes away the more divisive notes of the Fahrenheit DNA and makes it completely modern.

Scentologist11

A real man's scent... Gasoline.. But at the same time dirty clean... Violets with aldehydes and lavender give their charm of a soapy feeling...
The comments below have mostly said it all...

...Not for little “babies”, School boys-Only Adult real Men with a capital big M!

If you happen to have a testosterone deficiency and you look rather "girly", you can't change a car's tires in no more than 3 minutes, you pee sitting down and you can't unscrew an engine with a cigarette in your mouth without instructions?! Then this is definitely not for you!

Joking aside - it really is a Specific smell - And it would smell funny on someone who is not a "true og man"!

LeatherCouch

Upon my first encounter with this fragrance,i was captivated by its classy trail, which brought to mind images of wealthy men in classic suits. Now,i'm discovering the dark side of this fragrance, which of course is its biker jacket part. This is the kind of leather that gets me hooked. Deep and dark. Like a motorcycle leather jacket spilled with gasoline. So,this fragrance is an integration of two aspects. The one pole consists of the classy mandarin-violet shaving foam vibe, and the other one is the motorcycle leather jacket roughness. What comes to life highly depends on your given skin chemistry and mood. From the clean-shaven gentleman to the bad boy motorcycle dark rider.

At the time of this release by @Dior in the 80s,
This fragrance used to be top class and high prestige offering for men's perfume.

This is an absolute legend & still is IMO for a man's collection (demographic of 30+).

Beautiful violet leaf wearing experience & progression from the opening to dry-down,
I enjoy the opening however the dry down is always what garners me positive feedback, on the skin its magic. ;-)

Thank you monsieur @Dior for this fragrance.
