Armani Code for Women by Giorgio Armani is a Floral fragrance for women. Armani Code for Women was launched in 2006. Armani Code for Women was created by Carlos Benaim, Dominique Ropion and Olivier Polge. Top notes are Italian Orange, Jasmine and Bitter Orange; middle notes are Jasmine, Orange Blossom and Ginger; base notes are Honey, Vanilla and Sandalwood.

Armani Code was introduced to women in the spring of 2006. It is based on harmony between orange blossom, fresh spicy notes of ginger and warm sandalwood. A luminous opening captures the essence of two different oranges - bitter orange from Africa and sweet Italian orange. In the heart of the composition Tunisian orange blossom absolute makes a magical floral fantasy in alliance with jasmine Sambac. Its sensual trail brings a sweet unity of orange blossom, vanilla and a drop of honey.

I thought the notes described were perfect for me: I LOVE honey and orange blossom when they are authentic-smelling.

I was so disappointed when I sprayed this. To me, it smells like a cheap pharmacy shop frag. What comes to mind is high school girls’ locker room with Aqua-Net and generic shower gel.

I actually threw it away because the acrid scent just hung everywhere. I don’t know if silage and longevity are just that good, or because I hate it so much I can detect it everywhere in my home.

Nope.

Notes are supposed to be, but were not with my experience -

I never tried the old formulation. But I like this one . I get mainly orangey honey with a dash of ginger and soft florals. It’s beautiful , feminine and sexy but without trying. It’s like a cozy sexy , the kind to snuggle up with your long time partner

ConstanceMeow

Armani Code used to be my signature scent.
Reformulated, expensive.
It smells bad.
Old formulation was sublime 😭

"Hey let's water down Code and still charge the same price for it"
"Yeah good idea, man, and then we'll release a flanker with the original formulation in a gold bottle and call it Absolu"
"Makes total sense. And then we'll discontinue it altogether"
"Hell yeah, man"
- the clowns at the Armani Round Table, probably.

I left a review below, but I bought Armani Code flanker Absolu Femme, which is available for cheap on Fragrancenet currently, snag it while you can (ebay prices are already going up for it). It's legit the old school Armani Code, just keep in mind it is a bit different in that there is Neroli at the top, and extra ginger. First spray might put you off (it's harsh and strong), but wait 10 minutes and you'll be smelling OG Code + Neroli. I almost like it more than my original black lace bottle. It's a thousand times better than the reformulation, I can tell you that much.
I've been wearing Absolu for a week straight since I bought it blind. To my OG Code adorers, I highly recommend this - if you can't find a second-hand black lace bottle, go for Absolu Gold. The more I wear it, the more it's like I've rekindled an old romance. I just bought a back up bottle of it.

Look, the reformulation was so bad that discontinuing Code is the most dignified thing to do, tbh. They already killed it when they reformulated it. Just my two cents.

SmellyCat85

I think I echo a few others when I ask “what on earth have you done to this classic?!” I’m not even a scent snob! I wear perfumes like Exclamation, Midnight Fantasy, CKin2U as well as more expensive brands.
However code had a memorable smell!

Bought this from a very reputable online store recently as I hadn’t worn Code in a few years. First thing I noticed was the lace motif was gone. Just a plain old glass bottle.
The most basic scent with no depth compared to what it used to be!
You would be cheaper buying an orange and a lemon, slicing them and squeezing the juices over yourself because that’s all this smells like now. Absolutely raging that I wasted my money. Or perhaps I was sent a dud but perfume shop is usually reputable 🤷🏼♀️

Armani Code has been in my collection since it was released in 2006. I bought my fourth bottle three years ago, and sadly it was reformulated. This used to be a slightly citrusy, dark and mysterious fragrance that made the 20 year old me feel really confident. It was so seductive and sexy. It still smells pretty much the same, but has been tweaked. Now it's less dark and more citrusy, which makes it a bit more boring. I still wear it occasionally, but I miss the old formulation. The longevity is amazing, it lasts 12+ hours on me and it has a pretty good projection. I was so sad when I found out that it's been discontinued, but luckily I was able to find a backup bottle. I have two ratings for Armani Code. Old formulation: 10/10. New formulation: 8/10.

Saveria

This is a perfume that I really like and that I almost hesitate to add to my favorites.

What I smell first is orange blossom and vanilla, then the powdery side and finally, honey. Although the two are different, it shares some ingredients with L'Instant (Guerlain) which I also love.

It's a perfume that changes from what we currently smell in the street (very sweet perfumes) and which has been a little "forgotten" which makes me want to wear it even more because I hate smelling the same thing than the greatest number.

A very pretty perfume which - to my taste - can be worn in all seasons.

GirlOnFire

I’m certain I had written a review for this a few years ago but I can’t seem to find it. Anyways, this was a favourite of mine back during its release in 2006. Frankly, this has been Armani’s best release ever and I’m now reading that it’s been discontinued as of last year? That’s a real shame. Code is a seductively feminine perfume; it’s both citrusy and floral with a hint of vanilla upon drydown. It’s not tooth-achingly (or unnecessarily) sweet, but it’s also not a freshie like CK One, but it’s also not a bouquet of flowers either. It’s like a distant cousin of the original Dior Addict, but with orange blossom and ginger and honey and orange. Not as sandalwood-heavy as the original Dior Addict either. Someone down below commented that this is a masculine perfume—on what planet is this considered remotely masculine-leaning? Maybe in the current world of sugary sweet girly concoctions that smell like pastries, but make no mistake, Code is all woman. It’s very curious too because another perfume I reviewed the other day (Armani My Way) was called “too mature” but it’s a very girlish young candy-like floral. And I should state that I don’t find Code to be indolic in the least bit—and I love indoles! I mean I love the vintage indoles so, so much too. I love mostly vintage scents anyways. But I think if you think Code is too indolic, you just probably hate flowers/white flowers altogether? As far as masculine goes… Paloma Picasso is masculine. Cabochard is masculine. Jazz Club is masculine. Nirvana Bourbon or Amethyst are masculine. (Love all of these, by the way). Code is not masculine, folks.

Meredithe

Seduction in a bottle.

luckyfreedom3

This definitely brings me back to my friends or their older sisters in 2012. The citrus is definitely the strong top note, but it’s not in your face pungent, more just like announcing “I’m here!”
I give this like an 8/10 for my personal smell preferences. It’s a pleasant smell that I would enjoy occasionally, but probably not everyday. The middle note is a nice subtle like, sandalwood maybe? Something like that.

cat-deluxe

This is my favourite perfume of all time...

mzhyde

I have the old bottle. And all i can say is it's too sad it's reformulated. The old version is obviously 100 times better than the new formula. It smells heavenly. I'd say get the old bottle if you can find it, instead of the reformulated one. But reformulated one is good for a summer scent, it's very citrusy.

Rosiewebber

What an interesting perfume! It’s very clean, but warm. It opens with spicy soapy citrus, very unisex. As it dries down it softens, and the vanilla becomes more apparent. I like this.

Arth Guerra

Bring the og formula back please!

Aeternitas

Yes, another millennial here to say that Code has been my signature since it came out in 2006. I was 17 when I acquired my first bottle and wore it like a madwoman. Absolutely doused myself in it.
(I have one with the lace motif from a wonderful swap, and I have a reformulated one I bought years ago in the plain bottle. I'll get back to that later.)

The first compliment on Code was from a guy friend who hugged me on my way to class. He exclaimed "WHAT is that?! NEVER stop wearing that!". He would be happy to know I never stopped wearing that, lol.
All throughout the years, this one garnered the most compliments from men and women.
I've even had a couple instances where guys asked me what it was so they could buy it for their wives.

I call many perfumes generic, but this one simply is not, even if it was popular. No, it may not be niche, but it is a masterpiece. Certainly not your average safe fruity floral.
On the right chemistry it is a mysterious, sultry poison that wafts across your body like moonlit ocean waves caress the midnight shore.
Sweet citrus-infused honey jasmine glory, swirling together to entrance you with its smooth, calm vanilla energy.
I'm shameless and will wear it in summer, but it's really better during winter.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I bought a reformulated version, I foolishly didn't consider it was reformulated (nor did I notice the lack of black motif!) when I sprayed it on and said "oh no, my chemistry must have changed". I damn near wanted to cry, and I blamed myself when I should have blamed Armani, haha.
The reformulation smells similar, but not the same. The impact was not as alluring.
It is anemic... just lacking.
The depth that makes it radiate and last, simply isn't there anymore.

The dry down between the two is ... depressing. The old version holds its chest out for hours, smooth and deep, while the reformulation fades into sheer, bland ginger-sandalwood nothingness.
Perhaps I understand the accusers shouting "generic" if they have tried the reformulation only.

Armani somehow managed to make Code into a soulless clone of its former self.
I will finish out my reformulation bottle, and will be clinging madly to my black lace bottle.

spaghettibuns

I mourn this one constantly. I compare all others to the OG release. I am so sad they have reformulated it to the garbage that it is today. Its horrible. I come here to read other reviews that have the same opinion to comfort me in my mourning.
This scent used to envelop. Intoxicate. It used to make my eyes roll upon first spray. It made me feel sexy. It gave me confidence like none other. It was mysterious and head turning. It was wonderful. I miss it so

hnk11

Opens strongly with citrus and vanilla, dries down to a pleasant but plain vanilla that lasts around 5 hours on my skin. Plain but safe if you know you like citrus and vanilla.

dinkleheit

I get a citrus, ginger, orange blossom and jasmine. The overall feeling is it's suitable for night in the fall and winter months for maybe a work party. I think it's a very non-offensive scent that likely has been smelled a lot, but isn't too overpowering or different. That being said, if you are looking for unique, this isn't it. I like it, don't love it. I get some sandalwood in the dry down, also. I wouldn't wear this for a date night, because to me it is a bit boring, that's why I say office party. Wear it when you want to wear a perfume that you aren't trying to impress or offend anyone.

I will say this, this scent is not good for when it's warmer, it was nice when I wore it outside on a windy day and it was 75 degrees. Any warmer and I would say that it would just be a little too much. I wore it on a windy day and the vanilla came through and it was a nice scent trail.

zmuc

I'm suprised by the notes and people saying it's "fresh". I had this at some point between 2011 and 2014. This is a very heavy, dark, mature fragrance. It leans very masculine and it's 100% a night time scent. Lasts a very long time too and projects a lot!

Maybe it got reformulated, but honestly I don't think that would be a bad thing at all...

MM888857383

This is a nice fresh scent, it's not that feminine though, but it is pretty.

theperfumegirl

I used to like this despite the poor lasting power, but I feel like they have reformulated this it doesn’t smell the same! I get very strong sandalwood for a couple hours and then finally after about 3/4 hours it calms down and the smell is OK. I regret repurchasing this :(

Nil3

The lace is gone ….. the intoxicating legendary scent is gone too…..
They completely fucked over the fragrance !!!
I’m furious !!!!

Stop the butchering of scents …. NOW!!!!!!

lauramalkin90

I think they have changed the recipe for this perfume... i've used it ever since i was at school and the smell seems so much weaker nowadays and doesnt last as long.

Gypsy French

@scarlett.angel, the lace design has been absent from the bottle for quite a few years now, and it's now overpriced because it's apparently discontinued. And yes, it has been reformulated at least a couple of times between the lace bottle and 2023. I have a couple backup bottles of this along with one old school lace bottle that I cherish. Fantastic scent, like almost all of the flankers as well. Sadly, almost if not all of them have been discontinued too. What a shame!

scarlett.angel

Wtf happened to the bottle?! The lace design is gone both from the bottle and box. Now it comes in a boring, plain packaging and plain bottle, here in Australia at least. Plus really overpriced. Was this reformulated? So many people want this back, including me, I'm not sure if they destroyed the notes too. This was one of many favorites!

bad_flo

this orange blossom mixed with honey and sandalwood...is just no. it s a dry perfume, no sweetness, just crisp citrus fragrance with honey notes , orange blossom (which is very prominent) and that sandalwood at the end...oh gosh . i just guess it doesn't work with my skin chemistry but i dislike it. it may be suitable for those moments when i want to feel professional, authoritative ,but in rest...i dont find it to be feminine at all . i prefer Noir extreme from Tom Ford ,even Little black dress from Avon if i want to feel sexy and professional at the same time .this one is just simply too dry for me.

nrobinson2152

I have been wearing this since it came out and it pulls probably consider it to be my signature scent. I’ve always loved the floral citrus and the way it settles down into soft creaminess. I hope they never stop making it.

profesorahb

Edited to add: so...turns out I was coming down with Covid when I wrote the review below. 🤦🏻♀️

Post-covid, I get why people love this scent. I finally got past the initial citrus-y floral to the beautifully creamy vanilla/sandalwood dry down.

It's still not a me scent, but I've revised my rating to reflect that I think it's a delicious scent for folks looking for an easy to wear, citrus-y florivanilla.

======
COVID review:

I am truly baffled about how this is recommended as a "smells like" for the 2002 Dior Addict. I am sure that it is a lovely fragrance for some folks. It is NOT a lovely fragrance for me.

For some reason, I never picked up anything beyond screechy, citrusy floral. I kept waiting for the vanilla and sandalwood to hit and it just didn't happen. Even layering it with a vanilla fragrance didn't help. On me, it is VERY. LOUD. SOUR. FLORAL.

Lela24

I am not a citrus fan at all but this one is amazing! Even thoe it says that it’s citrusy, I can’t feel it much and it’s not sharp at all. Actually for me it’s a very sweet yet refreshing, easy going smell ideal for summer. Only tried the tester, can’t wait to get it!

selinacat

It says citrus, but it's a really strong stand out orange blossom scent. Deep and smokey in the spring, fresh and breathy in the fall. If your skin doesn't work well with citrus scents, try this and YSL Cinema. They give you the freshness of citrus without the sharpness.

happyhippie

This perfume is not my taste. It smells like someone took a blender of heavy cream, honey, drop of citrus and a bouquet of assorted flowers and blended it all together and put it in a perfume bottle. It's too cloying for any event like an office, wedding, church, date etc. Perfumes like these are the reason why I swore off buying perfumes for years because this is the epitome of "perfume smell". It's just not pleasant and I really don't understand these overly positive reviews.

thekinzzz

Bought this as a blind buy after hearing Curlyscents boyfriend Anthony give it a 10/10. I will say it is a very nice fragrance but I should’ve waited for the proper time of year for it as it’s the middle summer currently. I bought it for my upcoming anniversary trip in the fall so hopefully by then it will be more suitable.

I don’t love orange generally and even though it’s fairly prominent the honey and white flowers really meld well with it making it less citrusy and more sweet and floral with some dark mysterious vibes to it. Super vampy can’t wait to wear it full on!

luanneog

At first I wasn't that impressed. The opening smelled of acetone but it dissipated. Initially, it smelled a bit dated, like many early 2000 perfumes. But then I kept coming back to it and found it quite pleasant. Then I could not stop sniffing my wrist. The combination of ginger and florals made it fresh and crisp yet soft and delicate. Quite bright, fruity and citrusy without being sour. It smelled clean and uplifting. The right amount of sweetness as it wasn't cloying.

drugstore classics

Although completely different than Dior Addict, it has the same kind of expensive, quelque chose. I am in favor! Well worth testing - a modern classic that surrounds the wearer in a mix of elegance and attraction. <3

cafeyleche

To me this smells a slightly more animalic version of Krigler’s Promenade 19…which was also Audrey Hepburn’s singnature fragrance.

Evie01

I got this in an Armani sample set in 2016. I found it to be too mature and oriental when I first got it, but grew to love it years later. It is one of the coolest and sexiest fragrances on the designer market. The only other designer perfume that has a similar sexy vibe is Alien, but this one is more balanced and wearable.

The only reason I didn’t get a full bottle is because of its poor projection and lasting power

Melody Valentine

Similar to Dior Addict but a bit more citrusy. I've never owned it but my mam did a few years ago and the first time I used it I immediately thought of Addict. Orange pop with jasmine and ginger with a blob of vanilla ice cream in as a float. It's really nice from what I remember. There's a shop near me that sells Milton Llyod perfumes and they do a dupe of this called DNA. I've seen it a couple of times but bought the Tom Ford Black Orchid dupe instead. I think I'll pick up this one next time.

Unruly Julie

Mixed this with Anne Klein II and it's great!

Suncica7

On me, it smells so much like Lady Million does on my friend, to my nose. But when I tried Lady on me, it turned out too watery and green and nothing like that honey heaven I remember from the faculty years.
On me, this literally reminds me of how I smelt Lady Million on all the other girls 10 years ago.

gonegirl

is this really being discontinued? i really wanted to try it 😭

miyawakiri

one of my cousins use this and it suits her so much but on me its very citrusy and i also get the ginger heavily. jasmine usually supresses other notes on my skin and it kinda turns weird and synthetic so i didnt like the fragrance that much but its just me and my skin. the vanilla blends very well with the rest of the notes though. the dry down kinda smells the scented toilet paper. this also smells like my ex bf for some reason lol.

perfumeandprosecco

Such a pretty scent, but it smells like every aunt I meet at a family event. I actually think one of my aunts owned this lol. I feel like a lot of women had this or something similar in the past...not very unique (to me at least).
At first sniff, I got powdery, musky, and a well-balanced vanilla. Again, it's pretty, but I think it's been overused. It made me want to look into newer fragrances.

Tropicat28

For the love of God why is this being discontinued? Lucy you got some splainin to do, . . I’m talking to YOU ARMANI!!! Hopefully just a repackaging. Been wearing this since 2010. Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Orange Ginger Honey goodness. Smells like a Long Island Italian American woman, the unapproachable and intimidating kind who works out and drives a german car, dresses hot but not trashy, wears animal prints done right and she wears a lot of black and white. Lol. I’m not really into layering but I think if you wear Alien with Poison Girl Unexpected you will get an Armani Code vibe. #LiveByTheCode

Suncica7

I got it finally. I wanted sth that will remind me of the early youth, falling in love for the 1st time, sth floral, womanly, sth different from what i usually wear (lactonic, powdery, musky). And from all of the florals I tried, this one stood out together with Crystal Noir. I looked for the night out fragrance. I saw that on the official site they do not have it anymore. Hope it is not discont. Anyway, from the bottle it smells masculine but on the skin it is gorgeous yet soft. Not how I remember it to be. I honestly hope it will project louder in the warmer weather. I would order and older formulation from eBay but they don't ship to my place. Pity. Let's hope this will be more sexy , more what it is supposed to be in the summer. And maybe I am a little bit anosmic to it, as I usually am when I begin using a new fragrance.

Harley522

Sheerness of summer slowly turning into the depth of autumn. Smells sexy.

TheSmellOfCoffee190

I really wanted to love this. I've been looking for a women's fragrance with some ginger notes to it. Unfortunately, the ginger doesn't quite hit like I want it to. The fragrance is fine, although I am having a bit of buyer's remorse given the price tag and how mediocre the scent is overall. It's really nothing all that special in the world of women's fragrances and with the price tag, you're really just paying for the name on the bottle. It's not a bad fragrance by any means and it's not offensive. But my god, is it ever ordinary.

I don't think I'll ever purchase this one again.

WhiteFlowerPrincess

Oh how I love this! It has a bit of a warm spicy hit from the ginger that almost fizzes in the opening and then you get to the heart notes of jasmine and most importantly orange blossom, which is the star of the show in this fragrance.

It's lovely, feminine and white floral for sure, but it has a zing to it and a it has a bit of a citrusy and clean quality to it. I definitely get some vanilla and a slight hint of honey in the dry down, but I don't really smell the sandalwood. It think it's just there to increase the longevity of this beautiful fragrance.

The sillage is moderate and this perfume lasts quite long on the skin. It stays on my skin for about close to 8 hours, before it dissipates completely. For a reasonably inexpensive designer and non-niche perfume, that's amazing!

I am sad I never got to buy it in its lace accented bottle back in 2006, but this perfume is still lovely. I never smelt the original formulation, but this definitely still smells really good. I could imagine a wide range of ages wearing this and it doesn't smell stuffy or old-fashioned at all. It's super sexy!

checkman04

If anyone has a bottle of this they’d be willing to trade PM me :)) especially the previous lacy design bottle!

fragraddict

I've been using it on and off since the year it was out on the market. I'm sad to admit that it's not for me anymore. The perfomance isn't nearly as long as it used to be and the citruses aren't bold enough.

Mirabele

i wanted to love it, but unfortunately, not for me. i do love honey as a note but i have yet to find a fragrance with honey that i would be able to wear. they are unfortunately often packed up lots of white flowers, which to my nose translates as heavy, too heavy. this one is no exception, it is dark and heavy and lots of vanilla, powdery, heavy on white flowers. honey note is heavenly but it takes hours to come to that stage. it is extremely long lasting, hours and days, and i am unfortunately only able to tolerate the last stage. dry down smells heavenly, honey and dark vanilla, but i also think you must have right type of personality to be able to wear this perfume. for me, it is too much, too much silage, to much announcing to everybody that i am the one wearing that perfume. i may enjoy it on others, in very small doses, but i am not a type of woman to wear it myself. my bottle is of a new design, and i still find it very strong.

taurusenergy

Loooove this. I never smelled it before the reformulation, so I have no reason to be disappointed. The opening doesn't blow me away but the dry down is so beautiful. It's fresh, a bit spicy in the opening, a bit sweet in the dry down, and a little addictive. Totally appropriate for everyday wear but would be cute for a date too—there's just a hint of sexy in it. If you spray it somewhere warm on your body/under your clothing it lasts all day (in my experience).

thelifeteller

This is so beautiful, I wanna cry. That's all I can say.

When I was in my early 20's I felt I wasn't “woman” enough for this fragrance. Now, being almost 30, I want to shower myself in it. It's a gorgeous, feminine, girl-power, sexy fragrance.

Zlanita

This is it. My first love! The perfume is classy and pleasant. I have lot of good memories! I'm sorry that they reformulated it...

girly_giraffe273

For some reason I feel like this is what Monica Bellucci smells like. To me it gives off hot, grown up woman vibes. It smells good - a little floral, a little spicy, a little sweet. I am more the girl next door type so I don't know if I can pull it off, but if you want a hot person fragrance that isn't juvenile this might be for you.

Admw

I like this, a fragrance that can go anytime, anywhere, especially in spring and summer for me. It has a fresh touch, much citrus. Not overpowering and can be combined with many other perfumes

Linnsim

I remember wearing this in 2006 when it launched. It was an extremely sedductive scent, I am quite sure it was stronger than it is now, most probably it’s been reformulated. But still the DNA is there. Many perfumes have tried to copy this DNA (Prada Paradoxe for example), but Armani Code will for always be a staple in my collection. It’s a beautiful kind of powdery sweet white flower/orange blossom scent done in an elegant way. I always feel fresh and clean wearing it. Before, back in 2006 it used to be a perfume I only used by night, clubbing etc. But now, I feel this can be an everyday scent that works well from morning to night. Signature scent worthy.

drugstore classics

Having tested Armani code quite briefly a looooong time ago and never given it a proper wearing, today was a bit of a revelation. I had remembered it as citrus forward and rather inoffensive. I did NOT remember this musky, powdery dry down, the orange blossom, or the appealing bubblegum sweetness that recalls tuberose. It is a simple, yet sophisticated and satisfying scent. Best in cold weather, as some have noted, and this may indeed have been my initial issue. Most of the time my perfume testing ventures have been on warm and sunny days! That said, wear what you want when you wish.

Other fragrances released today are clearly related, if sweeter, and they owe some of their appeal to the DNA of Armani Code. Fragrances redolent of incredibly sweet tuberose/jasmine and tuberose/orange blossom are everywhere today and often quite new releases. I sometimes cannot tell them apart, they are so similar. And here we have some of the very same notes, but done with a bit more restraint and less sugar, if still sweet. The musky and lightly powdery, vanillic base reminds me of my favorite Dior - Addict - without in any way replacing it. The scents are only distantly related, but the same framework or base makes each delightfully wearable. If you enjoy this one, then Addict may also appeal.

Overall, one of the nicer designer scents it's been my joy to sample. Surprisingly long lasting as well. Five stars.

Elfin Will

A fragrance that will never go outdated. You can't help but love it, not polarizing, not heady, not dominant, and yet it's always there, you can't go unnoticed with it. A big compliment getter.

I fell in love with this perfume when I was 16, when I was still a young student in high school. It was the signature scent of my favorite teacher (of French), and maybe that's why I love this perfume so much: "Nostalgia".

This perfume is also perfectly measured, fresh and sweet at the same time, no note is overdone. Yet it is not generic and has its own signature, its own character. It's not an olfactory salad, as some perfumes are: you know exactly that it's The Armani Code that you smell in the air.

"Armani Code" is the father of all citrus-white floral modern perfumes. Perfumers just keep updating its DNA. "La Vie est Belle, l'Eclat" reminds me of it a lot.

Personally, I find the Armani Code lineage the most successful of Giorgio Armani and there are flankers for all tastes, while maintaining the same DNA of the original Armani Code. Even though it has been reformulated, it is still a must-have.

It's not my favorite perfume though, and I rate this perfume: 8/10.

LiliiiS

disclaimer: my Armani Code's batch code says it's made in 2015. I know nothing about more recent formulations. I even don't know if it's really reformulated or not.
I'm into white floral-vanillas so no wonder I really like Armani Code. it opens with a sparkly orangey, gingery blast rounded by honey sweetness which I find delightful eventhough I usually don't like citrusy or spicy scents.after it settles down, I can pickup clean jasmine, orange flower in a creamy vanilla, sandalwood base. white flowers can have some dirty vibe but I can't detect any of that dirty, sexy thing here. jasmine and orange flower are there but they're somehow tamed(I thing I would prefer it if they were stronger). fortunately there's still some spicy, orangey honey thing present to keep it interesting.
I used to LOVE Armani Code a few years ago. this one and Yves Saint Laurent Cinema were my orangey vanilla floral heavens. I still like both of them a lot but I have tones of other perfumes in this genre(JPG Classique Essence, JPG Classique Intense, JPG Scandal, Elie Saab Le Parfum,Elie Saab Le Parfum Intense, Love by Kilian Don't be Shy and this list goes on and on) which makes the Armani Code to feel not as special as it used to be but I still find it very pleasant, feminine, sensual but also easy to wear and I can't tolerate not having it in my collection. I believe it doesn't show it's true beauty in hot or super cold weather so I prefer it for autumn and cool spring nights.longevity is 6-7 hours max on my skin and sillage is an arm length or a little more when first sprayed. even this 2015 Armani Code isn't a room filler and I used to have two bottle a lot older than that and the performance was always like this. it's not strong but it's strong enough to make you noticable for people around you without killing them. if you like the notes go for it because all of the notes are detectable (well, maybe except bitter orange, I don't feel any bitter orange here. it's a sweet orange with absolutely no bitterness). but they're all detectable in a well blended way and none of them overpowers the rest.
BTW I also have Armani Code Satin(Armani Code+cacao and chocolate) and Armani Code Cashmere(Armani Code+nutty, powdery notes) and I like them even more. if you like Armani Code but want to have it with a more gourmand or more powdery twist, try those ones too.

supergirl9412

Pretty! Starts with sparkling citrus that floats into cola and creamy white florals. Reminds me of Hypnotic Poison’s creamy root beer-ness.

I have a new bottle (post-reformulation?), and the performance is weaker than expected. So, if this is one you think you’ll wear regularly, you’ll probably use up your bottle fairly quickly. That being said, don’t pay full price for it.

Kroko

Indolic bomb. Very dirty jasmine odor slightly covered by citruses. That indolic scent is so strong for me that I call this a shitty fragnance (explanation: indoles are contained in feces too).

Tontickle

I think I might need more time with this one.
I blind bought it second hand after reading great reviews about the older formulation.
I tried it out once and couldn’t get past the jasmine note. It reminded me of Alien, which I decluttered because I hated the jasmine in it.
If you love jasmine, I think you’ll love this, but I can only speak for the older formulation, not the one currently in stores.
I think I’ll make it my scent of the day tomorrow to get a better feel for it and report back.

oenomel

My skin sadly eats this right up and it lasted for a good 10 mins on me. Smells like non-sweet generic floral perfume, and became all lemon scent on my skin after spraying. It's 40F, winter in NY so it's not a weather issue.

Ceevee963

I first smelled this in 2008 when I went to Europe. This scent was EVERYWHERE. I visited both Germany and Italy and I feel like every woman that walked by smelled like this. I immediately purchased a bottle when I returned home and wore the heck out of it. It was my signature scent. The ginger and orange blossom were sharp and tangy, with a smooth, spicy drydown. I purged my OG bottle a few years back when I revamped my fragrance collection and I’m kicking myself for that. Repurchased in 2021 and OMG what happened? Smells absolutely nothing like the original. Weak, watered down and just NO. When I do reach for this (which is almost never), I’m disappointed all over again.

farzana68

Opens to a citrusy orange scent, which smells masculine to me (like a unisex cologne). Dries down to a sweet vanilla scent with no trace of the citrus which was apparent in the opening. Dry down is feminine, and the opening is unisex to me.

Overall I'd say this perfume can be worn by both genders and I'd give it a rating of 5/10. Can be worn as an everyday perfume and suitable for all seasons.

dianah65

a nice perfume but no 'wow' factor. I was very happy to get one as a gift. when it start to get low I bought a cheap dupe which is almost as good.

marinejuana

just tried via 15 ml travel size bottle, dated 2019 which means the new formulation I guess. nice and mystic, somehow out of this world kind of scent. planning to reserve December on examining this scent closer...maybe it happens to be my signature scent for 2023 :)))))))

Pearl Sound

What is going on in the perfume industry?! Almost everything I love gets discontinued or totally reformulated (you guessed it - to the worse 🙄 ). Armani Code was my latest disappointment. After my beloved Dior Poison and JPG Classique are not unique and delicious like they used to be anymore 🥺, I sprayed Armani Code to my wrist in a store today and - again! Only a trace of what it used to be back in 2006/07, I could hardly recognize it and they even changed the bottle design. In my case there was no black lace anywhere on the big size bottle today! Not to mention that it is a lot weaker too. So I brokenheartedly went home and thought "again". At least I hope for the people who profit from all this that their bank accounts are bursting.

Zhuó Li Fougère

i mean... i dont have to do another review to tell you how it smells, right?
my gf was wearing this, i always loved it but i was looking for a new one for her. we tested everything. a few weeks. such a disappointment. everytime i thought i like a new fragrance i smelled on the flakon of armani code and it always was: nope, armani code is still waaaaay better.
if you maybe wanna know..
in the end i found one for her tho: ysl libre intense, it is just equally great and in my opinion has a somewhat similar vibe.
so these are my top two fragrances for women.

Thisimone

This is sexy oranges and jasmine flowers. I get the ginger, it sparkles and brightens it a bit but theres something dirty (in the best way) about it. In my opinion it shines in colder weather <15 degrees and leans more clean jasminy and sexy. I don't wear it in summertime as it becomes really cloying, super dark and heavy.

Anfissa

I have always loved this perfume, and recently bought the new bottle. I am not sure if it’s just me, but the formula must have been adjusted or different ingredients were used. I remember it having a very strong projection and silage, as well as lasting performance. It smelled the same at the opening, but didn’t last on me. How sad! The bottle design was also changed, and while I still love the unique elongated shape and the beautiful cobalt blue of the glass, the lacy pattern was removed. I added my own stickers to it.

marialena888m

This is like a smoother, gentler Addict in its vibe. Less depth, more feminine and powdery in the drydown, while Addict smells deeper, sharper and more unisex to me. I love it! I was very late in discovering it, and never had the desire to try it in the past because it was just too darn popular 10 years ago, plus I was in my celeb scent phase and too young and broke for designer stuff. Now that every other woman around me and their moms are doused in the likes of LVEB, Si, Miss Dior and all their smell-alikes and flankers, I can finally make Code mine! It’s not too sweet for summer nights which is a bonus for me, I can wear this all year round. It is not a distinctive/unique ‘statement’ scent (I already have a gorgeous ‘statement’ honey frag in JPG’s Scandal, LOVE that one), but Code is sensual enough for evenings and smells just beautiful. You see, I tend to struggle with ‘dark’ evening scents (eg. Addict, Alien, Hypnotic Poison edp, Crystal Noir, Velvet Orchid, etc). I love how they smell, but they clash with my light-hearted demeanor and overall ‘subdued’ appearance/style, it’s like I’m trying to be something I’m not and they drag me down and end up wearing me instead, so the result is abit jarring and disharmonious, I never got compliments wearing those type of scents…but this one has that mysterious ‘night-time’ vibe without being dark or edgy or complicated. Just a lovely lady enjoying a lovely night out. Ah, I so love the combination of sweet honey and orange blossoms! Addictive. Other ‘night-time’ scents I can and have successfully pulled off are Lolita Lempicka (OG formulation, hard to come by these days) and Ange Ou Demon (will be ordering soon), both of which dry down into dreamy powdery-spicy vanilla-florals (violet for LL and lily for AoD) and they are not heavy, those two have a more ethereal ‘dark fairy’ vibe than ‘bold femme fatale’, LL being more playful and AoD being more elegant. With AoD, I need to be in a certain mood to wear it, Code is a lot easier to wear.

KarinaSo

for me citruses in many perfumes smells weird, but this one is wearable and nice :) opens up as sour orange juice, then comes white flower bouquet and citruses becomes more candied, like orange rind soaked in honey. Simple, but elegant, soft, mature and pleasant

sweetest_unsweet

I'll begin describing my journey with this perfume today.
I am looking for nocturnal, sensual fragrances, since all the ones I have are fresh, diurne and more summerish. The reason for that is simple: I can't seem to like any sweeter fragrance, they bother me. A lot.
Since all the night-time, sexy fragrances tend to the sweeter side, I decided to embark on the inevitable adventure of finding me one of them.
I have heard marvels about the Armani Code and it's power of seduction. I got interested, went to a store and tried it on my skin. I didn't like it but also didn't found it terrible. The scent itself was a bit familiar to me (hence the popularity of AC), but I found it kinda obsolete, too powdery, not indulgent. And NOT sexy. It smelled like the 90's to me.

Buuuut, I couldn't help being very, very interested about what this fragrance really is to all this people who love it. So I ordered a 30ml AC and will soon be testing its libidinous power among others.

Jessie James

This is a very nice, very basic, very likeable scent. I don't usually like jasmine but it's so soft in here and I actually really enjoy it. Armani Code is a soft, powdery, creamy, fresh perfume. I can't really see anyone not enjoying this, unless you dislike powdery scents. It's not a love for me but I do really enjoy it. It's comforting and warm but still bright. It's a great affordable fall and winter fragrance!

qe

I have the new bottle (without the black flower lace on it) and OH MY GOD. Fell. In. Love!!! It's like an aphrodisiac on my skin. It's so so so so so heavenly, just wow. Lasts on my skin for a couple days and smells incredible from first spray to after it settles down. My signature scent <3 I just can't get enough of this, it's so beautiful and seductive, feminine and dark, light and mysterious. Absolutely amazing, definitely will get you many compliments. I'm literally madly in love with this scent like you do not understand!!! ughhhhh ♥

AthenaDior

This smells EXACTLY like Jean Paul Gaultier’s Eau Fraiche.

shalimaraddict

This is a wonderful scent from Armani. Some have complained the new version (since the bottle changed) is not as strong. I beg to differ. I sprayed this on my arm the other day, and it was very potent and lasted for hours. Usually, I am not a fan of orange blossom, but it works here. I think it's because the scent is well blended. If you love jasmine, you will love this! The dry down is gorgeous with honey, vanilla, and sandalwood. I compare this to the original Dior Addict (with the gold top, from 2002)

Jloveparfum

Beautiful fragrance! Fresh start, spicy with bitter touches of citrus. Floral heart, warm, sweetened with honey. Giving way to a bottom softly woody, creamy and amber.

Substantivity on my skin reaches 8 hours with moderate to light diffusion and sillage.

Feminine and elegant perfume.

magneticpbe

Too feminine. It can make you feel like you’re ready to attend a business meeting at any moment but classy and chic for sure.

Croatian.Girl

I enjoy it. It's sensual, feminine, rich, ideal for winter!

dezaval

After all this hype, I tested it just yesterday. I've never experienced the pre-reformulated versions, but the new one doesn't have longevity nor projection. Pass.

MaxieF

I have both an older bottle and a newer bottle. I don't notice a difference in strength. The only difference I notice is that the new bottle smells like it might be made with better quality or just simply isn't as old so it smells better. The new bottle lasts a good 8 hours and projects nicely. It's beautiful. Opens with orange. Dries down to Jasmine, vanilla, orange blossom, Sandalwood. Don't waste your money on an older bottle, it really is the exact same fragrance.

Tina_Banks

The orange top notes fade away pretty quickly on me, and the vanilla, honey, jasmine, and sandalwood are more expressed on me. It has a light and sweet powdery scent to it which reminds me a little bit of a modernized sweeter take on Shalimar by Guerlain (though Shalimar's citrus top notes linger more than Armani Code, and is a bit more of a gourmand and incense type of vanilla). It's a fragrance that is feminine, delicate, and classy, on a similar vibe as Armani Si. I like how it's a mild fragrance, and the powdery vanilla drydown works perfectly on me, as I generally work well with powdery notes.

ihaveafragranceobsession

Holy sweetness!!! I used to use this fragrance years ago and it was always my go to. I recently smelled it again at Ulta and it smelled so sweet that it literally made me nauseous. So sweet my teeth actually hurt, if that makes any sense. I sprayed it anyway on my arm and it's been a couple hours and I'm still getting whiffs and it's making me sick. I don't know if it's the fragrance that has changed (some reviews have said it was reformulated) or it's me, but I could never wear this one again.

likesleet

just generally sweet. this didn't create a lasting impression on me.

MagdalenaM

Sexy thing, but not intimidating. Opens with beautiful, juicy citruses, dries down to an attractive bubblegummy jasmine. This could work in a lot of scenarios. Its sensual but easy to pull off.

Vermeer

Heaven in a bottle. If I could drink this, I would! Creamy white florals with zesty citrus and warm sensual vanilla. Deep and sexy, and yet innocent and slightly aloof. Ethereal and magnetic. Suitable for all occasions. Cannot fault the scent itself as it really is stunning, and I cannot stop smelling my wrists when I am wearing it!

Downside - it doesn't last as long as I would like and is expensive considering its lack of longevity. If you want to smell like this all day, definitely take the bottle with you.

All in all, I will definitely repurchase this as the scent is absolutely beautiful, and I have not, as of yet, found anything that smells quite so perfect to me. It's a shame that the longevity is poor. I hope one day that this will be resolved as it detracts from an otherwise stunning perfume. Despite this, it's my signature scent and my go to when I want to look and feel my best. Gorgeous!

sunshine0101

It’s a good perfume, but I don’t know why I don’t reach out to it. Perhaps I have other similar note fragrances that I like better.

LSAUG

Armani Code is a really beautiful orange blossom and honey perfume. Very sweet, it reminds me of Osiris by Sylvanne Delacorte and it is a lot better value. This is my first time smelling this iconic perfume and I had no idea what was in it but as soon as I tested it I knew that is a really, really good orange blossom perfume. The jasmine is clean and powdery here, the oranges are sweet, the orange blossoms are in full bloom and heavenly. The ginger is just enough to give it a nice slight spice w/out overpowering the composition. The honey is very strong, but I don't mind that, I am a sucker for honey in perfumes. It has a much more interesting sweetness than sugar notes in fragrance. Damn I'm a little pissed at myself for not sampling this sooner. I need this one in my life. Really fab orange blossom. Sweet w/out being gourmand. Sexy sultry summer nights is how I would describe Code.

SnowFleur

I tested this in 2013, liked it but never bought it. This year it kept popping into my head randomly, so I took the plunge and purchased it today. It’s so warm and spicy and beautiful. I have probably not waited long enough as I just sprayed it 20 minutes ago! To me it smells like the previous version of Dior Addict-with the gold trim on the bottle, a bit of Burberry Brit and a hint of Moroccan Oil hair treatment.
I like this as it hasn’t made me sneeze the way my Dior Addict and Burberry Brit did. I loved them both but occasionally found myself wishing I had chosen something else that day. Both of those bottles have probably now gone bad so I’m happy to have replaced two perfumes with one!

apeysaur

This smells like a sweet, ripe, juicy orange. I never had the opportunity to smell the old version with the flowers on the bottle, but I'm quite happy with the current version.

UnderTheMagnoliaTree

I'd come across this fragrance on a perfume strip ad in a fashion magazine years ago. I was probably in my early 20s, and still remember how wonderfully enchanted it made me feel then after rubbing my wrist on that strip! w.o.w....I couldn't stop smelling it. And I wanted it SO much but it was too much of a personal splurge all those years so I just forgot about it. At 36, I finally consciously decided to get it for myself. And I got the new edition.... but I was just not happy. Or rather, not AS happy as I fantasized I'd be after getting this. Firstly, the wonderful lacy flowers on the bottle were gone....HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT. I love great visual designs and I thought (still think) the original bottle was so beautiful! It is so dull now in comparison. And the fragrance just didn't feel the same to me. I kept wondering if my preferences and body chemistry changed over the years or if I remembered wrong. Then I figured...I kept smelling it from the bottle cap and on fabric mostly. MY MISTAKE. This scent is be-yoo-tee-full on the skin. The moment I rubbed my pulse point with this, the mandarin orange and orange blossom warmed up and the memory came back, and how! All the class, elegance, richness, and allure came back. I usually hesitate to put alcohol-based, fragrance-based stuff directly on my sensitive skin, so it jumped me, but this one is definitely worth taking a chance on the skin.

violetelle

I really really like this but unfortunately I wouldn’t purchase it because the performance is so weak. I’ve just been through duty free and sprayed this not more than an hour ago, on clothes, and it’s almost disappeared. So even though this smells lovely, very feminine - a creamy citrus - I won’t buy a bottle.

Eveningrose

I smell vanilla , milk and a little spice maybe from ginger ! It is an ok fragrance and the performance is decent but not beast mode . I don’t always reach for it but I like to layer this with other scents. This has very similar notes to Hermes Twilly!

kristi.cathcart1

Very disappointed in the performance of this perfume. I have the newest version ( the one with the plain blue bottle). I spray this and it has no smell 5 min later. It might as well be water with a drop or two of orange juice because it is WEAK. I purchased at Ulta and I only bought the 1 oz bottle. This has the performance of dollar store perfume.
I love Armani Si, but Code isn’t in the same class. I’ve heard the original formulation was wonderful…wish I could have tried that one. Oh well, I’ll layer with something else until I use it up. If you are thinking about buying this, save your money, there are better perfumes out there that perform

Reemaz13

All I can say is it’s a very attractive feminine fragrance, it’s a must to have it in my shelf

milkyjoa

Fruity Pebbles swimming in spiced vanilla milk. Lasts ages. You can't go wrong with this.

thetiptoeingtulip

i am literally obsessed with the drydown and would spend ridiculous amounts of money on the way this stuff smells after wearing it for like 4 hours. unfortunately i'm not actually willing to wear the rest of the perfume for that amount of time just for that final drydown. smells like an expensive, typical white floral-citrus perfume. drydown has the sandalwood & vanilla come out a little more to interact with the orange and jasmine and it's much prettier imo. the rest is basic.

Yessamin

Sweet orange blossom, musky sandalwood and spicy notes of ginger harmonise in an intoxicating scent.

EdP

Sierra_b

It's divine, sexiness itself 🥺

D&gredcap

Who’s said this is similar to “alien” by Mugler ?!!! 😂….seriously brush out your noses 👃😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣

mrsclairwright

Longevity and sillage were so poor on me, and I was underwhelmed with the fragrance. After reading other comments it sounds like the formulation has changed, so that may be why. My husband has the men’s version and on initial spray there was a similarity there that immediately put me off, as it was too masculine for me. The smell was ok but was gone in under 30 mins. I really wanted to like this.

IMadeleine

I had to have it again, edp this time and is better. A true compliment getter, it is perfect for any season, day and night, elegant, sophisticated and sexy. I would like it on me and on everyone else. Good sillage, good longevity, good perfume!

Marcielle

Like it. Don't love it. It's a good perfume, good sillage, lasts dos about 6 hours on my skin.
People compliment me when I'm wearing it and my husband loves it. But I find it kind of common. I've already used Amor Amor and Dior Addict Eau Fraich (2002), and they're extremely similar. Maybe that's why I can't find it that amazing. But it's a good choice and I find myself reaching for it every now and then.

Siv7Stars

Smelt the latest version of this in store today. Chrikey it's a travesty now isn't it? Where'd EVERYTHING GO? No orange no jasmine no orange blossom no ginger no vanilla just some nasty amber base thing. What's it 'sposed to be now? They even took the flowers away off the box just to make sure YOU GET NOTHING.

Hara1980

One of my favourite fragrances, I have been buying this for years. I get compliments when I wear it both from guys and girls.
When it dries down it smells like sea on my skin and at the same time it's warm and spicy. A wonderful and mysterious perfume.

nandalyne

I have people stop me ALL THE TIME to ask me what I am wearing when I have Armani Code on. This is seriously magnetic, it atracts people to you! I think Armani has a secret code indeed for this scent because there is so much more to it than its pyramid shows… One of our modern masterpieces for sure.

Oh uau, I just saw the perfumers who made this and that explains a lot!

Jeanathi

Itsmeyourdad

At first it’s this citrusy white floral scent, and then it dries down to this sweeter jasmine. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’m getting a slight hint of fruity pebbles in this perfume. Vaguely reminds me of Jasmin 17 by Le Labo. The only downside is that it leaves a tad odd taste in my mouth like how Light Blue does.

Marcielle

Sexy, mysterious, cozy and fun scent. A perfume for the Fall/Winter or a fresher evening in the Summer/ Spring.
Smells sophisticated yet approachable, if this makes any sense.
Pretty similar to Amor Amor by Cacharel (which is a much cheaper option. And might have a better performance).

poppyetpear

This is one of my most favorite fragrances of all time! The only perfume that I used the entire bottle. I still have my empty bottle from 2006 and the juice has been long gone, probably for about 15 years haha.

As I understand, the formula has changed and the bottle no longer has the black, embossed flowers, but I scored an OG bottle recently and I will cherish it and the memories that I relive when I wear it.

For me, it smells deep, sophisticated, sexy and clean. I never knew what the notes were before now, but I loved it in my early twenties. I hate white florals and jasmine overkill, but I absolutely love this! I'm 38 now and I plan to wear it to a folk concert tomorrow night (Gregory Alan Isakov🥰). The first time I've worn it in over a decade.

I used to wear it very often when I preformed folk/indie/ambient music myself, so I'll forever associate it with playing music on the scene.

Definitely my very first perfume love❤

denisi77

This smells like Amor Amor by Cacharel.

blackcatparfum

The opening of this reminds me of walking into an Abercrombie and Fitch store due to the white florals, although I don't necessarily mean that as a bad thing. Once the top notes begin to fade is when this fragrance really shines; the dry down is spectacular and addictive. I don't detect much orange in the top notes either, but that's just my nose being unreliable I suppose. I didn't love this fragrance at first, but after a couple of hours I wanted to bathe in it.

mnegrona

I didn't love this the first time I tried it. The honey note wasn't agreeing with me. Something about my body chemistry must have changed because now I can't get enough of Code. It smells deliciously like fresh oranges with a hint of vanilla, which makes the smell sort of orange creamsicle like. When I want to enhance the ginger, I layer it with Twilly.
Update: This is a man killer fragrance. A guy I've just met commented on it upon a minute or two of meeting me: "Wow, I love how you smell!"

samantham-123

Who wants to play Unpopular Opinion? I'll go first..
This really isn't that different from what it " UsEd" to be, the performance was always a bit ordinary and the actual formulation of notes are pretty much the same as they used to be. I bought a bottle of the lace print version back in 2010 after smelling it in a store and falling in love with it immediately. Spicy ginger, white flowers and woody honey drenched base. I used up the bottle and never replaced it as I wanted to try different things back then.

Fast foward to right now n 2022,
Still smells the same, only things that's depressingly ordinary is the bottle design lol. The gorgeous floral print was much nicer.

correspondencepersonal

They had me at "orange blossom - honey"...
No wonder this perfume has been such a popular commercial success.

Don't prejudge this one based on the first spray - and the first hour or so of wear -
It really doesn't start to open up and blossom, until you have worn this awhile.

This is the type of perfume which goes on very strong and potent upon first spray. It behaves more like the EDP version of Versace Noir Tease in this way (very different from the EDT version which begins to open up and blossom within the first 20 minutes of wear). [It does NOT smell like Versace Noir Tease in any way, but the chemical response is similar to how the EDP of VNT opens up later than the EDT].

If you prejudge this perfume based on the first hour or so of wear, you may mistake this perfume for being a bit cold and aloof. However, the magic with this perfume happens when the notes begin to have more of an interplay with the skin -- and this is further into the unfoldment of the perfume.

When this reaches the dry down phase:
The notes of this perfume blend very well with my chemistry. This is a nice chord composition where the notes form a sweet classic type chord. The notes are not fighting for attention, the chord is harmonious and elegant.

This perfume is signature worthy, it is so classic and elegant that this could be worn day/night - and any season as long as it is not too overly cloying on the hottest days in the summer.

This is a classic. The notes blend beautifully into my skin. This is harmonious, it is not shouting so loudly that the notes seem "off putting". I can definitely see why this has been so popular.

This is signature worthy. A perfume that fragrance collectors will want in their collection.

------------

Some of the reviews mention that this is super popular and that a lot of people are wearing this. Because the chord of this is fairly linear - this would be a great perfume to use in layering - with notes that could make this more "your own". Don't let other's opinions of this determine whether or not you will wear this.

However, I would just make sure that you don't wear this to events where a number of people could be possibly wearing the same perfume... without doing something to shift the layering and make this more your own. (This is similar to the popularity of perfumes like Delina De Marly, Delina Exclusif, Baccarat Rouge 540 - there are so many people that wear this that it is a perfume that you may want to steer away from at a crowded public event).

-------------

If you have worn this for years and want a slight twist on this with different notes -
I would try Carolina Herrera's Good Girl Legere'. Both Armani Code and Legere' share similar base notes in the chord. Armani Code stays fairly elegant and basic - and Legere' moves more into the range of coconut/almond - more tropical (these notes are not listed, but this is what this perfume smells like with my chemistry).

-----------

Why didn't I try this perfume earlier?
Where have I been this whole time this perfume has been on the market?
I was loyal to my signature perfume for years - and really didn't start seeking another signature until recently. Also, what I had heard about this perfume were things that I felt like were not going to allow this to be anything other than a "date night" perfume. However, after wearing this awhile - I really feel that this is not such a heavy hitter that it couldn't be worn during the day - and during every season (except maybe in extremely hot climates in the middle of the summer heat).

This perfume will be too heavy on those that don't feel that they can handle a strong perfume. This starts extremely STRONG.

--------------
Verdict:

This starts extremely strong and in a focused, aloof way where the notes of the perfume are tightly structured where they really don't open up at all, until the dry down of the perfume. The dry down has gorgeous silage, but there is over and hour and a half -two hours where this is aloof. I want a perfume that opens up faster than this and I never want to be perceived as being aloof - during the first hour or 2 hours of wear. This isn't a perfume for me, although there are a lot of people who this would be perfect for.

There are things like this that make me appreciate my long standing signature perfume more and more. Beautiful by Estee Lauder is hard to beat.

Out of all the perfumes I own , I got complimented by someone saying this is the only nice one out of them all !

If honeyed florals are your thing then this here is definitely one to look at. After ignoring the Armani Code line for years I recently got really into them. I started with Satin, my favorite, then Cashmere and now the pillar fragrance from this line which incidentally is the same order I rank them in. Code to me smells like oranges in the opening with light spicy kick from the ginger and white floral. To me the most discernible is orange blossom, clean light airy with maybe a touch of soapiness. The honey is present, sweetening the whole composition but not in an obnoxious way. Vanilla and sandalwood I struggle to pick out. I don't find this predominantly white floral scent heady or overly sweet, especially with the addition honey, rather, it smells quite light and airy to me. Performance is average and I can see this being an easy reach for many. Code was a pleasant surprise for me and one I would recommend.

Blackened

I have a brand new 2011 batch code, in case someone is interested.

tinkerbell2614

I think this fragrance smells good on other peoples skin chemistry, but not mine. On me the orange is amplified and it is reminiscent of cleaner. However I know this is a popular fragrance and it always sold well when I worked at Ulta. I would test it first.

hazi

is a wonderful fragrance to use anytime, anywhere, in the summer, winter, evening or day. It suits the snowy weather and the summer heat very well. A sexy and cool scent. Orange blossom vanilla and honey bomb

takema

The opening is very bright, juicy, sweet orange. As it settles the white florals become more pronounced and the fragrance becomes a little deeper and darker with the sweetness coming from the honey. Early in the wear I smell both florals pretty clearly, but as it dries down it becomes an orange blossom scent. I smell the ginger in the background all throughout, but always fairly subtle. Armani Code is a sexy, slightly mysterious grown woman scent, great for a night out...or in.

I understand the current formulation has been butchered in the performance department. My bottle is a few years old and I assume it is the current formula because the performance is quite disappointing. For the first 1-2 hours I can smell it all around me and it is quite stunning and smells like something that is going to stick around for a while. Sadly it then becomes a skin scent and is undetectable in about 4 hours. It does last a little longer on clothes, so I have been able to extend the wear by liberally applying to me clothes, but even then I don't really smell it after 5-6 hours.

There is a sensuality to this fragrance that makes it a great date night fragrance. It's sexy without trying too hard. I have worn this in all seasons and I haven't found it too heavy in the warmer weather, but I imagine the older formulations might be a bit too rich to tolerate in the heat.

As much as I love this fragrance, I don't think I will repurchase it when I finish my current bottle. The performance is just too diappointing. I have a couple of the flankers; Satin, Cahsmere and Absolu. They all have the same DNA in t he base, but with much better performance.

Nobody talks much about this one much anymore. Possibly because of the reformulation. The original was a bit darker, which was a good thing.
Orange and Jasmine take center stage here, with an ever so slight warmth in the dry down.
Two types of oranges...African bitter, and Italian. Plus orange blossom. Also, two hits of jasmine, one in the top notes, and one in the middle.
I saw a video of two guys rating women's fragrances recently. One was Italian, and his olfactory senses were very refined, and explained each fragrance brilliantly. He was drawn to citrus, being from Italy, he loved D&G Light Blue, and Armani Code scored a perfect 10 with him. The other guy also was quite smitten with Code as well, giving it a 9. They both agreed it was sexy, and would be attracted to a woman who was wearing it.
There is a general observation that men prefer sweet, edible notes...gourmands. I think this may be a misconception. (With maybe the exception of Dior's Hypnotic Poison...they seem to love this one).
But back to Code, it is a travesty they rearranged a great fragrance. I like it, but loved it more back in the days when it was so hip and lovely to wear.

komikdesi

the orange really bothers me, prefer the code satin than this one

ahaman

smells wonderful. Honey and sandalwood are great and it does smell super floral to me. I would consider this to be a great spring scent but the longevity is not great so i'm not sure I would purchase a full-sized bottle.

asg6

I totally thought this was the oldie I used to wear in college..really can’t remember what it was. Ordered a travel size vial on Mercari. I’m beyond surprised that there’s no bergamot in this, just other citrus. I swear I’m getting Earl Grey vibes…anyways it’s pretty “meh” and very weak projection on me. Kinda forgot that I hate designer orange blossom. Maybe I’ll try it again in Spring.

mtmer

Appreciated by some of your loved ones, if not by you, hahaha, ya'll are hard on Code. Just here to "admit" I scooped my wife a bottle during the Ulta Holiday Sale. We both love it on her. Code and Emporio Lei, man, I just can't put a finger on what it is about them, but both are so second-skin(ny) and subtle while simultaneously assisting in the conjuring of some seriously deep, feminine allure. Great era from Armani.

Code at full-price would not be an option, but as an aside I did take a small gamble on Cavalli EDP as a "bigger" orange flower alternative for my wife, and...nah. Code is still here for a reason - good is good - and I'm fine with its gentle nature as long as the pricetag matches.

spaghettibuns

what an ABSOLUTE and TOTAL SHAME that this perfume has been reformulated from its 2006 beautiful sexy dark original. Armani Code used to be my signature scent. I totally loved it. It was sweet sexy and dark like the midnight sky. The OG formula was INTOXICATING and all enveloping. It was strong but soft. This was a perfect perfume. All the notes came together and made my soul sing when i smelled it and it also garnered many many compliments. MANY compliments and questions. But they have reformulated it and it only barely resembles what it once was. This smells like cooked unflavored rice. Its bad. It smells fake and wrong. Such a shame.

Kon-nos91

I am afraid I have to agree with almost all of the reviewers. Even the original site of Armani Cosmetics has comments of clients complaining for the longevity of the 'reformulated' Code EDP. The truth is that the perfume remained the same, the bottle changed (no more black print of flowers on it) but sillage & longevity became something that isn't equal to quality anymore.

Armani Code EDP was a perfume that was so innovative for the year it came out. A perfume that so many tried to copy by getting inspired of it's character. It was smelling so 'futuristic' although feminine because of the most used/popular 'feminine' note, orange blossom. A classic that could speak to so many hearts but I guess it's due to the work of the master perfumers, Benain-Ropion-Polge. An Italian company could proudly compete French houses like Chanel & Dior and it looked like the battle was fair since the millenials and younger crowds loved Armani. This changed when the company was bought by L'Oreal. Not that this is necessary bad, but now offering perfumes like 'In love with you' (discontinued but good, kind of unique), musky/rose/fruity bombs like 'Because it's you', discontinuing Code Cashmere, Satin...you want more?

In a few words, I am not sure if it's nice for companies to keep on selves perfumes we love with the same price tag but with poor quality. The original EDP has a touch from many masterpieces like the 'right' white floral/woody whisper from Addict EDP by Dior, the perfect combo of bitterness/sweetness that Poison Girl EDP offers (it will be on the market for a few more months, don't tell me I didn't warn you), the honey that JPG made a whole line because of it, Scandal EDP, By night, A Paris EDT. Anyway, it feels like my review is a bit of a waste of time because buying a 50 ml of it just to have it in my collection was a total waste of money. The dupes of it smell better and last longer. Do I like it? Yes, it's sexy and dark without being too loud but I'll stay with my last 2 bottles of Code Cashmere that most of you compare with LVEB L'eclat EDP by Lancome. Mixed feelings, but I am sure people who used to have it as a signature will hurt more than me.

antoniov

Back in the days when i was looking for a scent similar to Euphoria by Calvin Klein this was very close although the powder note was a bit more here. It's an Okish fragrance but nothing that really stands out.

WBFragrance81

Was a favorite of mine for years. I love a citrus scent with a rich undertone.

Szafirowy czar

Beautiful citrusy scent. It's not as bold as my favourite night time fragrance, Poison, but it's also quite intriguing and enveloping with its warm notes. Perfect for the evening!

ScentFan2021

I can barely smell this perfume--on skin, paper, clothes, etc. And look at my pic. I love Cashmere, but the OG Code for women, I cannot smell.

aanulka

This one has grown on me over time. Starts off with clear notes of jasmine and bitter orange, which are well-blended, if a little spicy. Soon after, a creaminess develops, grounding the scent and giving it lovely depth and sweetness. Dry down is very cozy. The vanilla and honey tones are soft, enveloping and sexy. After 3-4 hours it becomes a skin scent. Think something like stepping out of a hot bath, lingering clean scent, warmth, sweetness from vanilla, and a hint of orange. Very feminine and comforting. It's a keeper in my books.

2whit2quit

Not sure why I waited so long to try Armani Code, but I picked up a small bottle at Ulta the other day. I’m getting major OG Dior Addict vibes and I love it. 😍

Geminihoney

I like the dry down better than the initial spray. You can smell the orange in this, but it has this projection that just reminds me of an elderly lady wearing this. I’m not sure if maybe I have a subconscious memory of this scent with an older lady, but either way, I find it a little dated and headache inducing.

Burtsr7

I’m super surprised about the gender rating on this one! I actually thought I had accidentally tried the men’s version when trying this. I consider this to be very unisex, not the ‘female’ rating it currently has.

I still like it though, the most prominent note for me is the bitter orange and I struggle to really get beyond that. The first ten minutes was actually a little peppery and spicy, I was surprised that it must have only been the bitter orange causing that. Longevity and sillage are moderate, you can get away with a few sprays because it’s not a super beastly fragrance.

I imagine a sophisticated, confident woman wearing this out at night. But since it’s not very loud you can get away with wearing it at daytime as well.

Nose_knows

I simply adore this fragrance. I’ve never found anything else quite like it. I get a lot of the bitter orange and ginger that meshes so well with my skin chemistry. Lasts forever and never gives me a headache.

Swedelish

I have a very old bottle with very dark juice from 2006 and I'm amazed by how well it aged. I would have thought the citrus and white floral top notes would have turned funky like old stale honey, but not at all. It's amazing.

I've had Cashmere, Satin, and edp both in current & older formulations. Original Code is my favorite. It used to be Cashmere, but the leather and sweet almond became tiresome after a while. I find the original great in cold winter because it is syrupy, sweet and a bit dark, juxtaposed by freshness like men's cologne running through it. This makes it more interesting than a typical feminine honeyed floral and a bit mysterious, too.

For years I couldn't bring myself to wear it due to old associations I had between it and girls I knew who wore it around 2008. They were Friday night-clubbing girls and fit the stereotype well. Happily, the passage of time transformed Code in my brain and I no longer have those memories attached to it. It's a beautiful scent that just happened to suffer the fate of misuse and abuse where I lived for a period of time. It no longer smells young and desperate for attention. It's a fragrance I feel grown, self-assured
and sexy wearing now that I'm in my thirties. Imo, it runs the risk of smelling inappropriate on a teenager / young adult.

bolla2909

I'd like to preface my review by saying that I genuinely get baffled when I read horror stories about fragrances that have been reformulated. Well, people say they have been reformulated at least. And while I do believe that it happens and has destroyed some lovely creations, I think people often just either want to have something negative to say, or are comparing what they're smelling to a memory of that fragrance. So take my opinion on it with a grain of salt. Maybe my nose is just very poor at noticing, maybe I'm insane, who knows. But what I do know is that I consistently disagree with the reformulation reviews on most of the fragrances I've known since I started my fragrance journey at 12, which was a looong time ago. So here's that.

Anyway.

Here is my review on Armani Code for women. A brand new bottle, bought a week ago.

Back in 2006 I was living in Reykjavík with my sister. The country girl had moved to the city to try new things and landed a job at a higher end boutique that required us to dress up and look the part. I had been a hopeless perfume addict for years by then, but with working at that particular store, my fragrance collection grew even bigger because now I could justify buying a new bottle because "of work". lol.

One day I was strolling through a department store on my lunch break, hunting for a new juice. There wasn't a lot on the shelves I hadn't tried but there was one bottle that caught my eye as I didn't remembered seeing it before and because it reminded me of dusk of a night that would turn into a wild one. Also, the pretty black flower details, which they removed some years later (why? Why would you do that?) were so beautiful. Just by looking at the bottle I wanted to love the juice inside. I sprayed it on, liked it, bought it and left.

I want to say that I loved it as much as I loved the bottle and the feeling it gave me, but that didn't happen at all. I genuinely think I bought it because it reminded me of some great nights in spring when partying in Reykjavík, at a time when the nights were getting longer but it was not daylight 24/7, people were full of life again after resting in winter. The excitement, the joy and wildness lay in the air, and it was all surrounded by the exact same beautiful deep blue color as on the bottle of Armani Code for women. But, at that time, I liked the fragrance, but didn't love it. Far from it. I used it up though, so I was very familiar with it.

And regarding all the reformulation reviews. Well, it hasn't changed. If it has, the changes are minuscule. Smelling it again, and using it a ton for the past 10 days or so, only reminded me of the bottle I had in 2006. There were no surprises there at all. When I read that it had been ruined, and it's nothing like it use to be, I was just "huh?" and promptly decided that me and everyone who thinks this has been changed beyond recognition simply do not agree in the slightest.
And reformulation in terms of strength? That actually made me laugh as this was weak back then as well. People, people, people. This hasn't been reformulated and gotten weak. It has always been weak. Back in 2006 I really didn't think of my fragrances in terms of strength (except after owning Euphoria by CK which knocked people out if I wasn't careful with the sprays) but I distinctly remember thinking to myself that it really didn't last. I even remember what I was wearing when realising this; I dusk blue coloured dress, much like the bottle, and a black sweater over it as I was quite cold that day. I sniffed my dress and sweater and felt a bit annoyed that there was almost nothing left of Code on there at all. And it only has been a couple of hours since I put it on. After that I carried the bottle in my purse to top it up during the day. And I am a light sprayer, so I can imagine that people who prefer a heavier cloud would not have liked this.
So, if you think it's weak now, that's because it always has been.
Those were my thoughts on reformulations.

And now on to why I bought it again all these years later when I only liked it back in the day.
I just randomly decided to try it again a couple of months ago and still liked it. I ended up trying it again and again every time I walked past it and one day it just hit me how much I loved it. It was weird, I just one day woke up and I was craving it and went out and got it. I have been wearing it non stop for a week now and I want to eat myself when I smell it on me.
It starts out citrusy, but it's a calm orangey citrus and not bright and sparkly like lemon or lime. The orange blossom tames the citrus part. I can smell honey and jasmine as well, and the jasmine has a slight spiciness to it which keeps it from being cute. It's not a complex fragrance and it's not groundbreaking, but on the right person it is utterly beautiful and alluring. It is not a very popular fragrance in Iceland, or at least I hardly every smell it. But then again, Icelanders are very discreet fragrance wearers so I might possibly be missing it. You usually have to come pretty close to a person here to smell what they are wearing, which doesn't happen unless you know the person, because in true form of Scandinavians, we do not like having people standing too close to us. Having to stand far away from the next person during covid? Not. A. Problem. lol. Which is great because I can feel like I'm the only one wearing Code even though I'm not. And nowadays I overspray this one. That means 3+ sprays. Which is a lot for me. People may actually be able to smell me from a little distance in the first hour. And if sprayed on clothes, I get whiffs of it for a big portion of the day. So, weak it may be, but not weak enough where overspraying won't help it.
I'm not exactly sure why I love Code so much now and didn't in 2006, but I'm inclined to believe that it's just an age matter. The more grown up version of me now delights in creamy and warm and sensual scents, whereas my younger self was more into louder and colorful and didn't appreciate the calmer once as much. I still love those now, but I grew to love the quieter ones too.

I feel sexy when I wear this. Not because anyone has told me that it's sexy on me. I just think it makes me feel sexy independently of anyone else's opinion. Which I think is the ultimate key to being sexy - not letting other people's opinions dictate how you feel. You unapologetically love what you love and are who you are. I feel like a grown woman wearing this, who has her own back, doesn't apologise for her opinions and knows what she wants. But with an upbeat twist. There is playfulness in the citrus. Which works well for me because at the same time I love being a woman, I also love playing like a kid. Which is the best of both worlds.

Oh how I adore Code 💕

Stoicchild

Headache in a bottle . . I absolutely loved it at the store but when I bought it home I started hating it due to how strong the jasmine became overtime. You need to be careful while purchasing this. Only purchase this if you really love jasmine or else this can make you cry. I'm not overreacting. This scent can drive you nuts! It's good initially then the headache kicks in . .

kskrage

My mother had this when I was a little girl. I remember, how I thought it was the most wonderful smell I have ever felt, sometimes ,when mom wasn't home, I took it and sprayed it on myself- PARADISE!
Now, about 10 years later, I tried it at a perfume store and I still love it. Certainly on my wishlist!

ColdNose

after seeing posts here commenting on the weakness of the current formulation, I asked around in a few nearby drug stores and the reps all told me they'd had similar comments from their customers

undaunted and fingers crossed, I ordered from eBay and this a.m. I'm testing
yep, it may start off quite nice in terms of strength and smell (altho I have no idea how it compares to the original) and I'd be real happy if it stayed like that, but unfortunately within 1 HOUR it's barely a skin scent (batch code - late 2019)
on my 2nd trial right now with ~5 sprays on each wrist and it's not much better
it is what it is I guess....BUMMER

chelseamurdock

I just tried this again in the store and it smells the same as it always has - maybe ever so slightly sweeter. Creamy, smooth, sweet orange, honey, jasmine, and vanilla with a tinge of fizzy ginger. It’s still as gorgeous and seductive as ever.

La petite robe noire

I sampled this in store recently when I originally wanted to try Si. Armani Code starts off strong with an incredible citrus - sweet, juicy Italian orange. There is also ginger which adds spiciness to it - I’m not usually into spicy notes but here I’m pleasantly intrigued. In fact I think the ginger makes it even sexier and edgier - it would not have the same bold vibe without it. Then, the sweet jasmine note comes through in a soft, unassuming way. Very addictive in the first initial spray, and the dry down is soft creamy floral.

This was my favorite compared to the Si range (sales associate was really pushing the Si Passione, which I liked as a sweet basic shampoo scent but not worth the price tag). I didn’t end up purchasing Code yet, but it’s high on my list. I’ll need to try it again.

In conclusion, it’s strong on the citrus but sweet and quite sexy. Might be a bit heavy for office wear, so perhaps it’s better for nighttime wear 😉 I just don’t like the bottle - it wouldn’t fit on my shelf and seems weird to pack for travel.

lexie472

despise what they've done to this. used to be a gorgeous scent and genuinely smells rotten to me now

spiceysauce5

Not sure about reformulations but I got a sample and it's not spicy at all, just white floral orange honey vanilla. Pleasent but forgettable. Reminds me a bit of libre, but I'd go for that before this.

Just hit me that it's also like a feminine version of Chanel edition Blanche, which I also didn't love. The ginger gives a similar vibe to the aldehydes that create the merengue acccord

FatimahC

This is one of those scents that I love to death, but refuse to wear often because everyone else wears it too. I don't like smelling like others and it sucks when everyone likes the same thing. I want to laugh and cry about it.

The honey, vanilla, and Jasmine notes are strongest on me. I smell the orange, but after an hour it's mainly those notes with a hint of warmth to it.

I still prefer Armani code satin over this, but they discontinued satin and I am sad.

Hypnotic Flower

If you look up "how to ruin a fragrance in one step" in the dictionary, you'll get the picture of this perfume as a first result. The current Armani Code is not even a shadow of what it used to be... To those like me who got to smell it in its prime it's so sad how much they ruined it. This was a one-of-a-kind fragrance, a true love at first sniff. I remember when I first smelled it, it literally was the most addictive, rich, juicy juice in the history of ever, ecstasy in a bottle, walking sex, the key to Heaven, the third secret of Fatima disclosed.. You get the gist.
Darn reformulations! I'll never get over it, really.
I wish they come out with another version that will be at least richer and similar to the og.

sweetperfumeprincess

The only citrus scent I have ever loved!

The cousin and I were obsessed with it. We used to steal this from my aunt all the time, and it made us feel very grown up and sexy. My aunt lived in an amazing little apartment in the heart of Melbourne. She was a jeweller for a posh boutique diamond store. This reminds me of her--masculine in an elegant boss babe way, but with a grown up feminine edge. It was so yummy that I don't want to buy it now in case it fails to live up to the memory.

Besides, now that I am all grown up, I prefer the sugar bombs I should have been wearing back then! In any case, I'll always have a soft spot for this perfume, the only citrus fragrance to ever steal my heart.

berrycool1211

This was a lovely scent. Yesterday I finished my bottle of this perfume. To my nose, this was mostly a Citrus Floral fragrance. It was fresh, had an elegance to it yet was equally simple. A modest yet elegant scent. Ideal for daily wear if you happen to have a fashion style which is classy.

Longevity... on my skin it lasted around 3-4 hours. On clothing it is very long lasting, over 18 hours.

If I was to give this perfume a personality, I imagine an intellectual woman who is responsible and organized. She is friendly and polite. She can balance work and play. She knows how to maintain herself and always tries to make sure she is living a good life where she is happy and doing well.

I have a friend who is like that. Makes me want to buy this perfume for her on her birthday next year.

39SUMMERS

I have tested this one at ultra beauty. It smells divine to me but all the ingredients I love, orange, orange blossom, vanilla, sandalwood...all my favorite scents. Hoping to get for Christmas this year.

Caseystewart64

This formula has to of changed, I remember smelling this 10+ years ago and being blown away, now this is a citrus to me... where did the sexy warm spice go? Does anyone agree?

zelelipe

I remember smelling this when it came out and I was a teenager, I always really wanted to purchase it but it was out of my budget and I thought it was a bit too grown and sexy for me (bear in mind I used to wear Jean Paul Gaultier Classique, Pure Poison and Angel around this time).

Now I have the chance to actually own this fragrance I am not as impressed with it as I was as a teenager, however I do like it.

It starts with bright, sharp orange in the opening and I would describe it as slightly masculine at first. The dry down is completely different; a soft, feminine vanilla sandalwood skin scent. It doesn't have amazing projection and also it does not last that long so personally I think it is a little overpriced.

You can most definitely wear this year round, day or night and to any occasion and it does have a very sexy dry down.

AuraAngelMuse

I was a little disappointed with this fragrance. I saw it being hyped by Demi Rawling on YouTube so I thought it would probably smell pretty good. I got a cheap impression of this scent from the Dollar Tree. It smelled alright but I was convinced the real deal had to smell better. I bought a mini bottle to test it out and it smelled almost exactly the same as the Dollar Tree impression. This has happened twice for me🤣 Once for this perfume and again for Lolita Lempicka. Needless to say, I'll probably always believe the impression smells very accurate to the original from now on.
On to the smell, it was a light citrus and vanilla scent with a slight gingery spiciness. The vanilla was much better quality than the Dollar Tree impression I tried, but for the most part, Armani Code smelled the same. Something about it is similar to J by Jennifer Aniston to my nose. I didn't think it projected very well but it had moderate lasting power.

locknotes06

I tested this one from the store and I tell you that I quite like it.I have been liking citrus + white floral perfumes lately and I'm on a hunt for a long lasting and well projecting fragrance that is worth my money.

This starts of with a strong blast of orange blossom and a sweet citrus rind with a gentle vanilla that is very uncandy-like(def a good thing) as it mellows down, those notes softens and a clean,non-indolic smelling jasmine comes out with the orange blossom's supporting role.As we settle temporarily on that midnotes phase,it smells very shampooey.Like a Sunsilk shampoo. Not gonna lie.It is soapy and when it comes to the dry down,it's powdery and almost plastic tupperware/styrofoam smelling. Also almost like a laundry powder detergent and I don't mean that in a bad way. It's nice but I guess there are better citrus floral fragrances out there for me.

The bottle makes it look like it should smell like a sexy, evening scent but this one is more likely to be suitable for a...Imagine brunch with your friends on a cafe near the ocean or the lake or the canals on a spring day where the flowers(specifically tulips came into mind) are in bloom and you are wearing light colored clothing of khakis, beige and white. This is it.It's like a carefree, and juvenile friend of Chanel's Cristalle.

I can also compare this one to Tesori D'oriente's Hammam(The one with argan oil in the black and bronze bottle) without the soft almond notes and the oily tones of the argan. That is cheap and it wears better on my skin.

stephdray

Reminds me a lot of Guerlain's L'Instant, though they don't seem to share a /lot/ of notes. Unfortunately, whatever it is that they have in common, I don't like.

Ladybutterfly72

Initial spray I get a burst of citrus, very bright 🌞. Then the sweet floral notes come through. This dries down to a sweet citrus floral. It could definitely be worn in a office environment.

michel.moreno

A grown woman sweetness. Nothing generic blended beautifully

pinkpunk

The first few minutes after spraying this, I smell something similar to nail polish. I don't know what that's about, but it eventually turns into something more citrusy and slowly develops into a white floral-y scent with smokiness to it, almost like an incense. There's a hint of sweetness in the dry down, somewhere looming in the very back that you can only notice if you search for it. From my experience it doesn't have the best projection. It is a bit linear, but I wouldn't say it's a bad thing. I can see how it could be sexy, but this thing is giving me more of a melancholic vibe.

rachelsedge

This is an interesting one on me. I was expecting a citrus / floral mixture, and it's there, but on me this smells pretty aquatic, like the ocean. It reminds me of Victoria's Secret Very Sexy Sea (though they have no notes in common, surprisingly). However, the drydown is different, and I start to pick up more on the warmth of the vanilla with a hint of creaminess from the sandalwood. Its dry down is a bit generic, but overall this is a good, versatile perfume. I think I'm a fan!

cocogirl96

This smells like the orange blossom water my mom used to put in her baked goods. Smells nice, but very one-dimensional and boring. The lasting power is also blah. This isn't worth buying especially for that price. I would rather buy a bath and body works body spray than this. 5/10

Mysterieee

This one gives me citrus vibes for days. It's... Ok. Lasts for about an hour or two, then it fades into the nothingness. There is no mystical complexity to this one. Which is deceptive, because Megan Friggin Fox is the face of this. She's a bombshell! I expect to smell almond with hints of incense and a touch of sweetness to round the edges.

But I got this. :(

It really has potential, but it needs some love of her sister flankers. Add two parts of Armani Code Cashmere, a little dash of Code Satin and we'll be having the perfume love baby from heaven. Fresh with hints of a mythical incense. Like a lady that roams about the streets (not allyes) in tight leather, enjoying the atmosphere of lust and desire that radiates from clubbers bouncing about.

RainbowGirl

I love the fresh sweet orangy opening. Orange is one of my favorite fragrance notes, and once combined with the honey and vanilla, it is even better.

The creamy jasmine is delicate, with orange blossom, and a hint of ginger to keep it fresh.

Reminds me a little of Jean Paul Gauliter's Classique Essence (one of my top five perfumes), but lighter and fresher. Which can be nice, when it's a hot Texas summer, and you crave that sweet vanilla, but don't want to wear a heavy fragrance.

I love everything about Armani Code, except for the performance. It doesn't have terrible performance, but it doesn't last as long as I would like.

If you love orange and vanilla, you will appreciate this delicious perfume. It is lovely from start to finish, each layer as satisfying as the one before.

When I was younger, this was one of those love at first sniff fragrances for me, but it was always too expensive. I wore Pink Sugar and hoped one day I'd be able to get a bottle of Armani Code. Finally, I bought one to treat myself and realized... I've somehow outgrown this? I feel like I'm aging backwards because 19-year-old me loved these citrusy white florals, and 30-year-old me just wants to wear sugary gourmands! I was apparently a very sophisticated teenager. It is a nice scent but not creamy, sweet enough for me. A better, creamier version to me is Hypnose from Lancome. I still love this but it's too sharp for me. It gets compliments, not in the 'you smell so yummy I want to eat you way' but more 'what a unique scent'. Also men have not complimented me for this, only women. I might give it away eventually.

tempbee123

At first, this smelled a bit masculine to me but I gave it another go and it's just very citrus-y. I guess it's okay and I definitely needed some summer perfumes but if I had to get rid of one to make room for more, this one would go.

MK55555

Very creamy, like yogurt with oranges and vanilla. Delicious, cozy winter scent. Not a big fan of orange in a perfumes, but I like it.

Love in a bottle, lovely memories in a bottle !!! There are few scents that are really forever. This is one of those.
I just had to remind the smell so I have it on my arm now, so so pleasant lovely I can't describe, sorry.
To me it is like a lovely suntan lotion, I know it sounds crazy but somehow it reminds me of the beach.
Its soft, slightly citrusy and creamy, lovely !!!
I just love it!!! I have lancome nuit a la folie on my left arm and this kills it completely. I can't smell a la folie !!!
My daughter says it smell like a beautiful clean fancy clothe store.
Anyway, I love this so much ˜˜~ memory in a bottle. Also the longevity omg is amazing !!! last 24 hs and in my clothes more than that.

Neroli, orange blossom, sandalwood and mandarin orange instead of orange is the basic structure of Pour Femme Intense, and it explains why Im getting that same vibe here from Armani Code in the opening and smelling the sprayer. Armani Code is orange loaded, deep, sweet, sensual. The orange is unhindered and there is some added spice from the fizzy ginger which makes it more mature (and wearable) than Pour Femme Intense. PFI has that furniture polish smell of the product I used to clean my piano as a kid so it is too intense and weird to me, but makes me nostalgic so I prefer the smoother Pour Femme, not the Intense. Here in the Armani Code I am sensing the honey and ginger and the sandalwood is dry and slightly like pencil shavings but not obnoxious in any way! Jasmine, bitter orange, ginger, orange blossom, sandalwood and honey are also in Jimmy Choo Illicit, so my nose didnt trick me (as well as other people I see) when I recalled the spicy sweet vein of the Illicit as I smelled Armani Code on my skin.

The Armani Code Turquoise also has neroli and ginger but the ginger spice there is alot more intense with the jasmine and pear reminiscent of Shakira's Pop Rock fizzy spice at the top, and the pear is that of Burberry Brit EDT. Turquoise longevity is not good, but Armani Code doesnt disappoint. The Turquoise is citrusy, spicy, ozonic and then it gets smoother with the sweetness of the orange blossom.
Code Absolu has even more similarities to Pour Femme Intense with their common notes of mandarin orange, neroli, tuberose, orange blossom, sandalwood. The tonka and jasmine there add a deeper, slightly cloying tone to it and make it more intense. I really love the Code Absolu too. I think Armani Code is a safe blind buy, but not the Code Absolu, unless you like deep intense scents.

I like this one a lot, for me it is my "night out on the town, dancing & flirting" or just "to feel sexy"-perfume. My bottle is from 2008, and I have used about half. I got it before going on a "workation"(bartending in Greece for the summerseason). Even if I used it mostly during the summer, I will say it is more of a fall/winter-scent or a year-round.
It came in a set with a matching body lotion, and the lotion combined with the perfume was divine. The perfume alone is just okay in comparison. I used the lotion alone during the day, and would spray the perfume on before going out. Unfortunately it seems the lotion is nowhere to be found, which is a shame. I rarely use this perfume nowadays, but I will put in on occasionally to reminisce back to my time in Greece.

VioletOrchid

I’ve always found it strange when people describe a perfume as sexy until I met this one. This the the only perfume I’ve owned that I can wholeheartedly describe as a sexy scent while remaining classy. Husband notices it and compliments it 100% of the time. It performs well but isn’t a beast. It’s a year round going out type of scent. It doesn’t surprise me that a name such as Dominique Ropion is one of the noses behind this masterpiece.

Uka

I have a sample. It is very pleasant scent. I like it a lot. For me it is all-year-round everyday fragrance. Love the honey and orange that is not cloying nor cheap smelling. However, it isn´t unique at all. I´ll be purchasing a bottle to have something when I don´t want to disturb people or don´t know what to wear. The only issue is the price and the fact, that it has some issues with lasting.

TinaIdra

I am IN LOVE with this! How can a person dislike this? It's so gorgeus! I smell orange but with a small hint of ginger, jasmine and vanilla. It smells like a sexy orange, and I really want to smell like a sexy orange! A new favorite for sure, the longevity is great too. It last for about 8 hours on my skin. I feel like this is more of a spring/summer perfume, at least for me. I prefer to wear very citrusy scents in warmer weather. But I love this so much so I will probably reach for it during winter too hehe..

Rianna

I've had this before, years ago. It made a change from the flowery perfumes I have as it was more spicy and a little masculine. Now this new formulation - Well, I like it better than the old one. I'll tell you for why - the old one used to dry down and have a bit of a sticky honey note which I never liked but this new formula is fresher, more orangey with a waft of light jasmine blossom and a hint of ginger to stop it smelling too flowery. It's cleaner and easy to wear. Grey smart suit and crisp white shirt or t-shirt and jeans, either suits. It's seductive, it's clean but sexy. It's different, and I like that.

Jadetive

What you see in the notes is exactly what you get. Although I'm testing out the new formulation, longevity for me was good - I tested it on my clothes before bed, just one spritz, and I could still smell it on my clothes in the morning

Midnightsummers

Nothing special, one of those perfumes that stay at the back of your collection. Would maybe an at home scent for me, or a casual every day scent.

I can really smell the orange and honey/vanilla in the dry down. Overall meh,

Ellsa

such a boring smell, I can't wait to finish the bottle. I don't see anything special in this perfume. Maybe is me but when I buy an perfume from Armani, Dior, Chanel I expect them to stand out not just another pawn in the chessboard.

Jasmindee

Smooth, elegant and warm.

I have to be honest, I didn't really like this perfume at first when I was gifted a small vial. Not because I didn't like the scent, but more because it smelled a LOT like Classique Essence, and they share 5/6 notes from memory, so to the back of my perfume collection it went and I didn't really think about it, that was until today.

It's cold yet beautiful here in the UK right now with bright skies and longer evenings, and something made me want to give this perfume another go. I'm really glad I did, because this smells just lovely. Very elegant and almost creamy. There's a note mingling about that smells like chocolate and it's making sweet, sweet love to the vanilla and citrus notes with that heavenly, ultra-feminine orange blossom on top. Very sexy, but not in a daring kind of way. Armani Code is more muted. Silk blouse with lace stockings kind of sexy. I don't get much of the ginger, thankfully.

Not sure if anyone else has made this connection, but this also reminds me a little of Love Potion by Oriflame, except with less of a chocolate note.

I do like this a lot, but the lasting power was pretty terrible. I sprayed an hour ago, and I only get a faint trace of citrus and vanilla on my skin. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy a bottle, but I'd be happy to recieve this as a gift!

Jacob1984

I keep reading that this doesn’t last long on others I have a 2013 formula and it’s very long lasting. I adore Armani Code it’s gorgeous❤️ Very long lasting. Top 5 by far.

TheScentedNotebook

Top evening/date night perfume. Don't need anything else.

It also reminds me a bit of Alien EDT. That deep, sultry jasmine.

elenaalexbg

Perfect combination of orange and jasmine here. Very nice and fresh, more bitter than sweet. Perfect all year around for my place, probably not for the coldest winter days/nights. After couple of hours it turns more vanilla and I can just smell the ginger, not that fresh anymore but still quite nice... it turns kind of powdery.

It is definitely a Like, the only cons is that it is not very long lasting. Price is OK.

Sienna_Elise

One of my favourite perfumes of all time. I adore this beautiful fresh, clean vanilla perfume. There is a hint of honey but I don't feel it is over powering or makes the scent too sickly. Love, love, love.

valerieboyce66

so, when I smell this on my skin, I get the jasmine, and it stays jasmine on me. It wasn't until I looked at the notes and saw the orange blossom, that I smelled again and it was, in fact, there! I didn't think I was a floral girl outside of gardenia, but the more I smell these jasmine fragrances like Code, I'm drawn to them. I'm not buying the full bottle; I got the sample size only to review.

xmikax

This reminds me of Alien by Mugler. Anyone else? Anyways, this is a light yet sharp floral-clean fragrance. Doesn’t last long. It’s nice, but I probably wouldn’t spend money on it :)

seymabekar

does not last long and is expensive so not good value for price. i bought it through recommendation, although it is a nice fragrance, for me there is nothing special or surprising about it, just a nice clean fresh scent. i don't understand the hype.

Hunnynpink

Sweet floral warm vanilla...soft and sexy. Fades within a few hours.

Liz-frag

Really mature and classy perfume in my view, it smells grown-up and potent.
I’m not fan of the dry-down that is a little bit too sweet en strong .

Haleswilk

I love this perfume the only issue is it lasts a hour tops!

leonaV

This scent is divine! If you love the smell of orange blossom and jasmine this perfume is created for you, because that is what you get in this perfume. The bottle itself evokes me a seductive and mysterious scent, that can be worn only or special ocassions in the evening, but you can wear it all day long even though the fragrance is sensual.
But what really disapoints me a lot is the fact that it lasts on my skin not longer than 30 min and I know people who have the same problem. It is really such a pity because if it had lasted longer, I would have definitely purchased another bottle.

Wow, I am late to the code cracking party!
Armani Code, I was aware of since its 2006 launch, I remember it being advertised EVERYWHERE, magazines, TV, bus stops, you name it, it was advertised there, I remember thinking that the bottle was stunning with its blue hues and lacey flowers, when I got into fragrances in late 2016, Code pretty much fell off my radar, I forgot it existed entirely until one friend gave me a list of fragrances that I should try.
A lot has changed since Armani Code's release nearly 15 years ago (wow I feel old) the bottle now no longer has the beautiful lace detailing, instead, its now gradient blue, which does look a little bit bland compared to the older bottles and various flankers of this have come and gone, but Code is still here and hopefully will be for a long time to come!

The main notes that stand out on my skin are: bitter orange, orange, honey, sandalwood, jasmine and orange blossom. The jasmine doesn't punch you in the nose as soon as you spray it like it does in other jasmine-centric scents like Alien and Pure Poison, instead it just forms a nice, crisp and light backdrop, the orange blossom melds with the citrus notes upon first spray, the pithy, realistic bitter citruses then fade back a bit and the orange blossom comes forward, sandalwood and honey then come out slightly later on in the dry down, the orange blossom mixes with the honey to become a honeyed sweet floral note with the jasmine and sandalwood preventing it from becoming too sugary sweet, vanilla rounds it out and the end result is a warm, woody, alluring musk.

Longevity is good with 7 hours, silage starts out pretty strong but then settles into a mild/moderate skin scent on me, I actually don't think it would be out of place in an office or a professional setting, its also a very easy to wear scent for formal occasions too, its a pretty good allrounder in my books, I really love this one!
EDIT: I showered, I could still smell it on me post shower, this stuff is knockout!

fawneyed_sita

first impressions: This is a pleasant but nondistinctive white floral bouquet. I was hoping to find something similar to Van Cleef & Arpel's California Reverie, which this has very similar notes but poor performance for a high price tag. Unfortunately, comparing the two side by side, California Reverie knocked this one out of the park. California Reverie is an almost pure jasmine soliflore dipped in honey, it smells exquisitely natural for 30 minutes but then vanishes. Armani Code hardly smells like jasmine at all, it smells obviously synthetic to my nose and the orange blossom and other notes overwhelm the jasmine to me. The dry down that sticks smells like a generic sweet floral vanilla.

alexisx

I wore it for my wedding, the notes of white flowers, jasmine, Italian Orange, and Bitter Orange, Honey, Vanilla and Sandalwood enveloped the veil like an invisible crown of flowers. Usually it is always better to avoid too intrusive odorous notes, on this day of celebration and beauty but it was a beautiful meeting ,unfortunately after the reformulation it is no longer the same.

Paula73

This used to be one of my favourites a few years ago and I was excited to own a bottle after having gone without for a while. But I'm so disappointed with this fragrance now. I've heard it described before as smelling like bug spray and the opening of this new formulation is definitely comparable to that. It does get better in the dry down but it's nothing like the former glory of this perfume. It has lost it's depth and the longevity is absolutely shocking.

aldinatic

bitter orange+honey+ginger is what my nose get :) the sweetnes comes from the honey :)

DajanaFragrance

Memories strike hard with this one...I remember smelling it as a child and thinking nothing could ever smell so gorgeous. The sleek bottle decorated with black lace-like flowers perfectly describes the scent inside,a wonderful combination of citruses and sweet notes in which honey brings uniqueness.Code even smells slightly masculine to me and that's one of the reasons I admire it so much.Romantic, yet so sexy.Perfect for cold weather and night occasions. This was and always will be Giorgio Armani's best creation (and I hope they didn't ruin the scent with the new reformulation,as that would make me furious). Many years after experiencing Armani Code for the first time,I never came across a fragrance so special to this day.

nina4tj

Does not late over 30 minutes on me. I’ve tried over spraying because I like the scent. But It doesn’t last worth ish. Will not rebuy. But I hope to find code satin or cashmere

bintTapputi

This smells like a reformation. There is something that is really nice about this in the quick dry down, it's warm with an inviting base of vanilla that carries the whole fragrance. But it's quite reserved, and too light to make a real statement -it would make a good fragrance to wear in professional settings when you want to stand out a little but not a lot. Overall I find it too light to be interesting for my own tastes. I think people who only wear summer fragrances and want to start dabbling with colder weather ones would probably really like it as there is a strong citrus note that carries throughout the wear of the perfume. 6.5/10

Bebelusica

Unfortunately I still can't see what the hype is about with this perfume.
Personally it fails to deliver. Turns into a skin scent after 3 to 4 hours, or even less.
It's sweet but bitter. I like this DNA, very pleasant but there's a certain note in here that I don't like. I especially like the drydown because it turns softer and loses a bit of that sharp bitterness which can't find its place in my nose.
It just doesn't project. It's only sexy when I put my nose close to my skin to smell it.
I can see myself wearing this if I'd go to my boyfriend's house for a quick visit, at least a boyfriend would smell you up close when you hug or kiss. I would never spend a whole day with anyone while wearing this, because it just doesn't last.

phailynchhoeun

Like others have said, they completely ruined the beauty of what the original formula was in the floral bottle. I think I’ve finished 2 of the original bottles but this one just has something about it that irritates my sinuses and does not have the same depth it used to.
